The black cocoon beneath Dabai's feet slowly wriggled, revealing a face—it was none other than Wan Renwang, the Ghost King. Beneath his pale skin, black threads spread like blood vessels, carrying an eerie aura that made him seem less than human.
Dabai slowly crouched and extended a finger, drawing a vertical line across the center of his forehead. Wherever his finger passed, the skin split apart to either side. An eyeball without a white sclera rolled several times in the middle of his forehead before finally fixing its gaze on Dabai.
"We meet again!" Dabai said with a smile. "A thousand years have passed, yet you seem to have grown much weaker! As expected, with the passage to the Nine Realms closed, you gods and demons have all weakened with time! How utterly useless!"
"Child! Don't be so smug! Once I emerge, you'll be the first one I destroy!" The Ghost King's mouth did not move in the slightest, yet his voice came from the center of his forehead, making the sight all the more bizarre.
"Heh." Dabai looked mockingly at the black pupil in Wan Renwang's forehead. "Are you sure you want to speak to me like that right now?"
As he spoke, Dabai extended his finger again and slowly pressed it toward the black pupil.
"Stop!" The black pupil's voice carried a trace of nervousness.
"Oh? Why?" Dabai did not stop, continuing to press closer.
