When he saw Cangsong fall into a daze again, He Dazhi rubbed his nose, his eyes darting about. After a while, he suddenly said, "How about... you come to the Two Mountains?"
Daoist Cangsong thought he'd misheard. He turned to He Dazhi, his face full of shock and astonishment.
"Do you know about the Great Calamity?" He Dazhi asked, looking at Cangsong. When Cangsong remained just as bewildered after hearing the question, He Dazhi realized he knew nothing about it. It seemed Yuyangzi didn't think much of him, either.
He Dazhi sighed and gave a detailed account of everything he knew about the Great Calamity.
When He Dazhi finished, he picked up his teacup to wet his throat. Cangsong suddenly sprang up, bracing both hands on the table, and glared at He Dazhi. "Why didn't you tell me about something so important sooner...?"
But as he spoke, Cangsong realized he had no grounds or right to demand that He Dazhi and the others report to him. He still hadn't managed to let go of his former identity as the head of Dragon Head Peak.
He Dazhi wasn't offended by Cangsong's angry words. Instead, he smiled and said, "You've been staying in the Wild Lands all these years. Even if we'd wanted to tell you, the journey was too long for us to manage it."
"Besides, if Yuyangzi found out you were in contact with us, he'd definitely grow suspicious. That wouldn't be good for you!"
Cangsong knew He Dazhi was giving him a way out. His face flushed red, and he said nothing.
Seeing this, He Dazhi didn't stop. Instead, he dropped another bombshell. "That person is recovering at the Two Mountains right now! Won't you go see him?"
At first, Cangsong didn't understand who He Dazhi meant by "that
