"Three moves have passed. Let's stop testing each other!" The Beast God looked at Luo Yunji, a smile at the corner of his mouth showing how happy he was, how much he was enjoying himself. Since gaining awareness, this was the happiest moment of his life.
"Have you still not changed your mind?" Luo Yunji sighed softly.
The Beast God smiled so brightly, his grin as innocent as a child's, that Luo Yunji swallowed all the words of persuasion he'd been about to say.
He could tell the Beast God was genuinely happy. The smile on his face even made Luo Yunji feel a little sad for him.
"Today is the happiest day of my life! I... am truly happy!" The Beast God's heartfelt confession made Luo Yunji's heart clench.
"You think staking your life in battle is something to be happy about?" Luo Yunji didn't know what the Beast God had been through. Even with the Heavenly Book, not every detail was recorded. He knew the broad strokes of the Beast God's past, but not all of it.
The Beast God nodded, then shook his head. "I don't know. But I really am happy right now! I just don't know what I'm happy about. If I figure it out, I'll tell you!"
"I don't want to be your enemy! Much less fight you to the death!" Luo Yunji looked at the Beast God earnestly. "Everything I said before was true! I want to be your friend, not your mortal enemy!"
"I know! But to me, a friend can't compare to an enemy. Whether I kill you or you destroy me, neither of us will regret it!" The Beast God's smile left Luo Yunji unable to continue reasoning with him.
