Nine Phoenix extended his hand, and an illusory, slender bow of many colors materialized out of thin air. He drew the string unhurriedly, as though deliberately giving Lei Jingxiao and Zi Yan time to flee.
Then an arrow condensed from Dou Qi took shape. Zi Yan and Lei Jingxiao swiftly pulled away, but in that brief instant, Nine Phoenix's spiritual power had already locked onto them.
He released the bowstring. The arrow tore through the air, tracing a colorful streak across the sky before striking Lei Jingxiao squarely in the shoulder!
Both his protective Dou Qi and his lightning were utterly destroyed by the arrow's power. Lei Jingxiao's body shuddered violently, and blood sprayed out at once. His forward momentum spun completely out of control. Had Zi Yan not been supporting him, he would have plunged straight to the ground.
Before Zi Yan could react, the crisp sound of another arrow rang out. It shot straight toward her right arm. Unlike Lei Jingxiao, Zi Yan anticipated the attack, and dazzling purple-gold dragon scales manifested over her entire arm. The sharp Dou Qi pressed against those scales, unable to penetrate them for the moment. Though the arrow failed to wound her, it still consumed a considerable amount of her Dou Qi.
