At those words, Fairy Qing's face tightened at once. She shot Yao Lao a fierce glare in feigned anger and snorted. "Hey, Yao Chen! How can you be so shameless? I haven't agreed to anything yet, so don't give people the wrong idea."
But the delight in Fairy Qing's eyes gave her away. Clearly, the form of address Yao Lao had asked Xiao Yan to use was exactly to her liking!
Xiao Yan smiled and bowed to Fairy Qing. "Xiao Yan greets you, Teacher's wife!"
"At least you have some sense, unlike certain heartless people."
Fairy Hua watched her sister say one thing while meaning another, and saw how readily Yao Chen took it all in. She could not help rubbing her brow, her expression equal parts helplessness and amusement. She gave a light cough to break the delicate mood. "Sister, before anything else, can we clean this place up? Save the embarrassing talk for when we get back."
Fairy Qing abruptly noticed that quite a few Flower Sect disciples were watching them respectfully.
Though the disciples had not heard exactly what was said, who among them had not heard at least something of Fairy Qing and Venerable Yao's past? The sight could not help but stir their excitement. Their eyes alone showed how wildly their imaginations were running.
Embarrassment flashed across Fairy Qing's face, but it was quickly replaced by the authority of an elder. She cleared her throat and resumed her usual cool composure.
All four knew this was no place to talk. After swiftly clearing the battlefield, they returned to the Flower Sect.
Fairy Qing also gave Xiao Yan a Storage Ring containing, among other things, rare flowers and herbs from the Flower Sect. As she put it, since the young man was so considerate, she could
