Chapter 809: The Headmaster's Office Password
"Looks like Professor McGonagall won."
As Silvan turned his head, he happened to see a stream of black smoke shooting out through the main doors at incredible speed before vanishing from sight.
A few seconds later, Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick came rushing out as well. Though they were running as fast as they could, they were still a little too slow. By now, Snape had probably already left the school grounds.
"Let's go. Professor McGonagall will be here soon," Silvan said.
"Ah—okay—" Harry snapped back to his senses and hurried after Silvan as they continued upstairs.
Students were still running downstairs in a steady stream, and nearly all the staircases were occupied. The two had no choice but to find more secluded staircases, or simply take the castle's secret passages.
There were quite a few such passages. Some led directly from the second floor to the fifth, or from the third floor to the first. Since both ends were within the castle, they had been preserved rather than sealed off along with the passages leading outside.
Silvan and Harry shifted aside a gleaming suit of armor in the corridor and crawled out through the passage behind it.
They had emerged from a secret passage on the fifth floor, its exit directly facing the ugly Gargoyle statue outside the Headmaster's office.
"We're here," Silvan said. "But there's one problem. Do you know the password to the Headmaster's office?"
"Ah—no, I don't." Harry seemed startled and shook his head hesitantly.
"What's wrong with you? You've been absent-minded since earlier. You nearly got lost in the secret passage," Silvan asked, glancing at him.
"My scar." Harry gritted his teeth and took several deep breaths. "It's felt like it's on fire since earlier. I guess he's angry—but
