Lynn opened his mouth and took a deep breath.
The orange energy in his palm became a glowing stream, flowing with his breath straight into his body.

Lynn closed his eyes, feeling the rules intertwine within him.

By the ordinary rules of a single universe, if someone traveled into the past and killed you as a baby, your present self would vanish because the chain of cause and effect had been severed.
This was the TVA's trump card for controlling the multiverse, an inescapable dead end for anyone who resisted.
Now, that dead end no longer applied to Lynn.
He had anchored his existence to this very moment.
Even if someone traveled into the past and blasted the Earth on which he had been born into dust, the Lynn sitting here would not be affected in the slightest.
"The past cannot define me, and the future cannot judge me." Lynn opened his eyes.
The broken half of the Pruning Baton in his hand lost its luster completely, becoming a dull gray plastic tube. He casually tossed it into a nearby trash can.
Watching from the ceiling, the Tactical Team Captain's eyes bulged.
