Cisrain slaughtered the majority of the Chaos Space Marines single-handedly.
Standing in the distance, the "Librarian" Fabius, who was orchestrating everything, was using some form of Warp sorcery to tear open a rift in the Warp, summoning more Chaos thralls. From within it, there seemed to come the sound of endless rage and the cathartic roar of total destruction from beneath the Throne of Skulls.
A terrifying and ghastly Chaos creature struggled to crawl out from the rift Fabius had torn open. Its body was even larger than a Hellbrute, and its six crab-like, horrific claws granted it a terrifying movement speed comparable to that of a Necron Desolator Scorpion.
"Fabius?" Siles, having found Fabius, was somewhat shocked.
When did he undergo such mutation?
And why did he bear the blessings of the Chaos Gods?
Then, Siles saw the Daemon Engine he had summoned. He had seen it before, for he had killed one himself.
Even just being nearby, one could feel the endless hatred and fury branded into every gear of the creature.
"A Slaughterfiend!! How much has this guy been hiding from me?"
"My dear Chapter Master? Have you graced the battlefield with your presence? Look what I have brought for you."
"."
The Slaughterfiend was a variant of the Daemon Engine Defiler.
The Daemon Engine Defiler was a terrifying weapon forged by the Blood God. It encased a daemon soul ripped from the Warp within a war machine crafted with the highest forging techniques, fueled by the boiling blood of mortals. It allowed the sealed daemon to vent its endless hatred and fury upon all enemies through slaughter. The Slaughterfiend variant discarded most of the Defiler's ranged weaponry in favor of more melee armaments, making its combat style even bloodier and more brutal.
The origin of the first Slaughterfiend traced back to the Skull Champion Akagha the Devourer.
He was the one who tamed the first Slaughterfiend and imbued it with his own will, turning it into his mount. Later, many Khorne-worshipping berserkers scrambled to imitate him, but few could truly tame such a behemoth of war.
His own subordinate was actually capable of summoning such a terrifying war machine.
And he had kept it hidden from him.
The summoned Chaos gate held more than just a Slaughterfiend; there was a "Blood Host" formed by them. Countless Slaughterfiends waited behind for the first one to pass through the tunnel and charge into the physical universe.
Siles looked toward Cisrain.
The man had already carved a bloody path to "ascension."
No matter how many Chaos Space Marines there were, they were like mortals before Cisrain.
He hacked apart Chaos Space Marine after Chaos Space Marine.
He wiped out minion after minion.
Cisrain, carrying an axe burning with golden and red flames, walked toward Fabius and Siles, who were waving their staves.
Those Chaos Space Marines had been terrified by his slaughter.
Upon seeing him, they even scrambled to flee in desperation.
They were terrified of being torn apart by this monster before them.
He was simply not human!
No.
He was the true Chosen of Khorne!
His shoulders should be adorned with the skulls of Chaos Champions!!
Demon!
Cisrain, gripping his flaming axe with both hands, watched the Slaughterfiend that had already crawled out.
"."
The Slaughterfiend that had crawled out of the rift vanished in a blur.
Its six mechanical claws allowed it to move across the ground like a gale. Even in the eyes of the former Salamander Siles, the creature's speed was so fast it formed an inescapable afterimage. The blood-rage runes carved into its throat seemed connected to the will of Khorne sitting upon his throne, emitting a roar of fury from the Blood God.
Siles trembled, "Such terrifying speed!"
If it were me...
I wouldn't be able to track its movements at all.
Yet Cisrain caught a glimpse of it.
Not only did he see it, but the creature's trajectory was as clear as a funeral candle in the dark.
Another one I haven't seen before?
No matter!
Hack it down!
The great axe swung toward the creature.
Cisrain had killed too many Chaos Space Marines.
Most he simply hacked down.
This one was no exception.
Faced with absolute strength, absolute speed, and the buff of The Emperor.
The newly summoned Slaughterfiend.
Instantly had one of its crab-like power claws severed by Cisrain.
Just as it tried to spray flames of death from its massive turret.
Cisrain grabbed the muzzle directly.
With strength beyond anyone's comprehension.
He twisted the Slaughterfiend's muzzle with one hand, then ripped the tank-cannon-like barrel straight out of its body.
Massive amounts of parts and black fluid sprayed from the Slaughterfiend's mechanical frame.
The endless fury of the daemon desperately threatened Cisrain.
But Cisrain merely raised his axe high.
Then brought it down with lightning speed.
Boom!
With resentful fury, the scorched daemon soul let out a miserable, desperate wail.
Cisrain turned away coldly.
Siles felt a chill run down his spine. He had believed he could stand against Cisrain, perhaps even slay the lackey of the False Emperor.
The man did not look at him, yet at that moment, he felt as though he were being judged.
The holy light of The Emperor was scrutinizing his soul.
Yet, there was no recognition of him in the man's eyes.
It was as if he were nothing more than the fodder being slaughtered.
Humiliation.
I established a Chaos Warband, I am the Chapter Master of a Chaos Warband, I plundered vast amounts of Gene-seed, I cultivated countless Chaos gene-warriors, I seek vengeance against the Imperium, I will sow the seeds of fury against the False Emperor, I will...
He charged forward.
And was met only by an axe swung casually in his direction.
Slash!
Siles, like the other Chaos Space Marines, had his heavy shoulder armor cleaved open, the blade biting all the way to his sternum. His death was no different from that of any other grunt, even if he was the so-called Chapter Master of a Chaos Warband.
He was kicked aside by Cisrain.
His body was shoved into the sea of Chaos corpses, drowned by the dead Chaos Servitors.
He was unwilling, he roared.
He felt like a joke, a joke born of manipulation.
Having become a traitor, he had no chance to display his grand ambitions, no chance to speak, and no one even heard why he had betrayed his cause.
In his mind, he had prepared his declaration of victory and his rebukes for the lackey of the False Emperor countless times.
Yet, at this moment, not a single word came out.
He saw Fabius's mockery; he seemed to see the sneers of the Chaos Gods.
The day he threw himself into Chaos.
He had already become a tool.
No one wants to know why you betrayed them, and the one killing you will not listen to how pathetic you are.
No one knows your vision, and no one will know what you did before you died.
"I really wanted to see Nocturne one more time..."
Cisrain pursued Fabius.
But his remaining soul was torn apart by several forces.
Cisrain had given Fabius hope, leaving him only a step away from escaping to the other side, but it was only a step.
In the "Blood Host" formed by countless Slaughterfiends on the other side, a cold figure appeared.
Why is his head so pointy?
At a conference in Atoma, the Tech-Priest responsible for providing equipment asked the representatives: "We lack the STC for high-intensity flashlights, prisoners, what shall we do?"
The hall was silent. Suddenly, a veteran stood up and replied: "We shall solve it by infiltrating in the dark, Lord Priest!"
The Tech-Priest asked again: "We lack the STC for night-vision goggles, what shall we do?"
Again, the hall was silent. After a while, an Ogryn stood up and replied: "We shall solve it by infiltrating during the day, Lord Priest!"
He asked again: "We lack the STC for autoguns and lasguns, what shall we do?"
A zealot shouted in reply: "We shall use blades and axes to slay the enemy, honorable Lord Priest!"
Hearing the representative's words, the Tech-Priest was so moved that he leaked oil. He thought for a moment and said: "Prisoners, thank you for your support of the Omnissiah. We have found a way to overcome our difficulties. But if every one of us is to have blades and axes, where are we to find so many weapons?"
"That is easy to solve, we shall pray to Grandfather Nurgle to send them to us, honorable Lord Priest!" a psyker replied.
