STC Template World: Karamat.
This was a world of a lost civilization, a binary-star system with two stars and six planets.
The Template World was located on the fourth planet.
On the other planets, most traces of what humanity had built during its glorious age had been erased by stellar winds and the heat death of the universe. Only the occasional unfinished fortification remained, recording the traces of humanity's hasty abandonment and flight from this place.
Karamat's land area was somewhat larger than that of an average planet.
This also meant that the planet's gravity was greater than that of an average planet.
Explorers from the Tau Empire had discovered this planet several years ago, but had not developed it. It was only a year ago, as the Second Sphere Expansion neared its end, that they began a preliminary exploration of the planet.
In this newly discovered world, they found two civilized races that had only just entered the age of councils.
One was a three-eyed demihuman civilization that had emerged and evolved since 32K. The other was the Kroot, who had evolved from avians. Centuries of warfare had made the two civilizations bitter enemies in this world, each occupying abandoned human fortifications and facing one another in opposition.
What benefited the Tau Empire was that they had dealt with the peculiar race known as the Kroot long ago.
They had also long guided the Kroot into the Greater Good, making them part of the Sept Worlds.
Moreover, half a year ago, they had established diplomatic relations with the Kroot on this planet and obtained all rights to develop and survey the Kroot settlements.
They had excavated steel pipelines resembling factories, smelting furnaces, and a series of unimaginably massive structures. Unfortunately, these things were not the core.
They were merely
