Outside the Cadian Gate.
Three Blackstone Fortresses vanished calmly before their eyes.
Although the core components of two of those Blackstone Fortresses had suffered severe damage, one of them was so badly damaged that it was nearly beyond repair with current technology.
The good news was that only the weapon systems and force field shields had been disabled.
Their other functions remained intact and could support warp transit.
They would pass through a Warp route, then reach the nearest Webway world for long-distance travel.
According to the cosmic Webway routes Gamma had obtained, the nearest route to Cadia was only about half a galaxy away.
So the distance was not too great.
Gamma did not know whether Cadia had a Webway. After all, they had only acquired part of the route network. If Cadia possessed Webway space, Imperial reinforcements would have been enough to prevent Abaddon's Black Legion from truly taking Cadia.
While war raged here.
A plague war was also breaking out in Ultramar.
Typhus and Nurgle's chosen were plotting a scheme.
They intended to tie down the Imperium's strength while suppressing Gamma World's rate of development.
Gamma World had now entered a phase of exponential growth. If left unchecked, Gamma World's Expeditionary Force would undergo another massive troop expansion. Unlike the ordinary human Imperium, Gamma World did not need dozens of planets to support a single army.
Gamma was better at standardization.
The Blackstone Fortress sailed slowly onward.
On the route taken by a Black Legion force bound for Cadia.
The people aboard that Black Legion force clearly saw the Blackstone Fortresses glowing with purple light on the other side being seized by the enemy.
Then the enemy used the Blackstone Fortresses' power to seemingly open a spatial gate.
A world resembling the Warp.
