Of course, that was unrealistic.
A Black Templars warrior suddenly remembered.
They recalled that while fighting on Is III, their relics had lit up.
They had paid no attention to it at the time.
But now, it seemed...
Perhaps General Sigismund had already been resurrected then and had appeared on Is III.
"High Marshal!"
"?"
Sigismund retained almost none of his previous memories. His soul had merely been loaded into a new body. Only a resurrection like Malcador's would preserve all his memories.
Malcador understood the situation.
He also knew this was not the time for reminiscing.
"There are more important matters to attend to. We have taken Cadia, but Abaddon the Despoiler could return at any time. We must use the power of the Blackstone as quickly as possible to protect Cadia. I know how to use the Blackstone Cadia possesses. Their existence concerns the life and death of the Imperium and will determine its future. They know how to use these Blackstone constructs."
Since Malcador had put it that way, they could only agree.
Though there was much they wished to discuss now.
It was clearly not the time for it.
Moreover, Malcador's return was bound to provoke fierce resistance from the High Lords.
But Malcador had to return to the Imperium.
At the very least, an Imperial Regent like Malcador needed to return to the position where he belonged. Only by returning to the Imperium could he stabilize it, unite the Chapters, and restore the Emperor's rule over the entire Imperium.
The Black Legion and the Despoilers would not give Cadia much time.
And if they failed to conquer it once.
They would resort to even more extreme measures to seize Cadia.
Or perhaps they would not try to take Cadia at all, instead choosing to destroy
