The weather was a little stifling, making everyone irritable. Several guards at the town entrance lounged lazily on the ground, paying no attention to the passersby entering and leaving. They would only give them a cursory glance before continuing their conversations with the companions beside them.
It was not until Durandal and Rita approached that they all turned to look at the pair and swiftly rose to their feet.
Durandal and Rita were completely different from the people here. Whether in their attire or bearing, it was obvious at first glance that they were no ordinary people.
Though they did not recognize the two, they hurried forward to greet them when they approached.
"May I ask who you two are, my ladies?"

The guards were so frightened they wet themselves, not daring to ask another question. They regretted it deeply... They had known these newcomers were not to be trifled with, so why had they still questioned them?
Important people like this always had strange tempers.
