"Kitty..."

Griseo stared blankly as Little White suddenly ran out of the house. She did not know why it had run off. It had always been so well-behaved when she held it before.

She hesitated and glanced at the drawing board beside her. She had no inspiration anyway, so she might as well go take a look. What if she found some inspiration?

With that in mind, Griseo put away her easel and other things, then trotted to the front door. She closed it behind her and ran outside without even putting on shoes.

Barefoot, Griseo chased after Little White with her paintbrush in hand. But as she kept running, the kitten vanished from sight.

She looked around in confusion and could only continue forward aimlessly. Then, from up ahead in the alley, she heard a cat meowing.

It did not sound like Little White, but Griseo still walked toward it.

When she turned the corner, Griseo froze at the sight in the alley.

The cat there was not Little White, but a small orange tabby that looked like it had not even reached adulthood. But that was not the important part...

The important part was that a heavily wrapped-up person stood beside the kitten, holding a horrifyingly cruel-looking pair of clamps, seemingly about to hurt it.

The little orange tabby had not noticed at all. Some dried fish had been placed in front of it, and this person had probably used them to lure it over.

Just as he was about to act, Griseo suddenly appeared in front of him, making him pause... He warily looked around and found that there seemed to be no one else nearby.

"Where did this kid come from? Where are your parents?"

The man stopped what he was doing when he saw Griseo.
