After leaving the bookstore, Miko Yotsuya took Griseo to several more bookstores nearby, but they all seemed to be out of stock.
It was not until they reached a rather small convenience store that they finally found some for sale. Generally speaking, aside from bookstores, convenience stores also sold weekly and monthly manga magazines.
Tankōbon volumes, however, were not all that common.
This was no longer a magazine, but a standalone volume of a single manga series.
But unexpectedly, the convenience store owner had stocked some too. The location simply was not ideal, so they had not sold out yet.
"How much are these?"
Looking at the copies of Natsume's Book of Friends on the convenience store shelf, Miko was delighted that the owner had placed them in such a prominent spot.
She picked up five copies and asked the owner.
Two were for her collection, while the other three were gifts.
For Hana and the others, for example. After all, this was little Griseo's work.
"You're buying so many, little miss? Just give me xxx yen."
Seeing Miko buy five copies at once, the owner smiled in mild surprise and offered her a discounted price.
"I was worried they wouldn't sell well before. Looks like they'll be sold out soon enough."
The convenience store owner was a woman in her forties or fifties. When a distributor had come to deliver magazines earlier, they had asked whether she wanted to stock some manga volumes.
She had hesitated and wanted to refuse, but her daughter had happened to be in the store at the time. Seeing that it was the first release of "Book of Friends," she had insisted that her mother order a batch.
The store had never sold tankōbon volumes before, at most manga magazines. In truth, it was
