Underground Base

After Bronya and Seele entered the passage, Seele realized that inside was nothing but a very strange circular platform.

The circular platform was not very large, able to hold at most seven or eight people.

"What is this? How do we get down?" She looked at the thing before them, but there was no passage leading into the underground base in sight.

"This platform should be an elevator..."

Looking at the circular platform before her, Bronya suddenly thought of something... Her tone carried a hint of certainty.

"An elevator?"

"Mm."

Bronya nodded firmly. With the underground base hundreds of meters below, relying on walking instead of an elevator was obviously impractical!

"But even if this is an elevator, there's no electricity in all of Kyoto right now. The factory has no power either. Can this elevator still work?"

Looking at the elevator before them, it was completely different from an ordinary elevator. It was simply a small platform, without doors or anything like that... and there were no signs that it could still operate.

"We'll know if we try. There may be power running in the base below."

As soon as Seele stepped onto the elevator platform, before Bronya could even search for the controls, the platform began to shake, then immediately started descending.
