Arc 29The Rise of Great Chu

Su became Eastern Sovereign Taiyi and created a divine order, but Yuan’s sacrifice destroyed Jing and left him guarding Fengdu. As Fang Qing spread the Mystic Dao and Great Chu rose against Northern Qi, the King of Qi gained the Xiang Lord rank and drew Eastern Sovereign Taiyi’s judgment.

  • Su banished Zhou, appointed Xia Qi hegemon, helped Yue become a Grand Witch, and later ascended as Eastern Sovereign Taiyi after sacrificing Fei.
  • Yuan’s blood sacrifice destroyed Jing, elevated him to Mountain Ghost, and left him imprisoned in Fengdu to guard the Nine Extremities while hoping his mother could someday reincarnate.
  • Man pursued the Deathless Grass and a Deathless Elixir, but Jiang stole the elixir, and Man died as a mountain outside Qi’s capital.
  • Fang Qing taught the Mystic Dao, bestowed Auxiliary Seats, and sent Sangji to spread the Earth Esoteric Sect across the Western Continent.
  • Shi Tianzun founded Great Chu, while Shi Tianfeng gained the Bane Star seat and the Mysterious Primordial Water-Control Banner.
  • Shi Tianfeng confronted Grand Witch Xiang at the Xiang River and forced Northern Qi’s shamans to withdraw, giving Chu time to prepare its campaign.
  • The King of Qi defeated Grand Witch Xiang with the Dark Shaman Cauldron and Northern Qi’s national fortune, becoming the Xiang Lord.
  • Eastern Sovereign Taiyi declared that Northern Qi must fall and Great Chu’s era would begin as a violet flame approached Qi Capital.
Chapters 703–727 Vol. 8 Read

Ch. 703Plain King

Su banished Zhou, made Xia Qi hegemon, and left the throne vacant, while Yue recorded the change and prepared to pursue the Grand Witch realm. After Su created a Grand Witch-grade spiritual material for her and sealed the Shaman Terrace’s eighth tier, Man learned he could no longer study the Qilin Tome and feared Yue had surpassed him.

  • Su had Zhou flogged and banished him, then appointed Xia Qi hegemon over the realm while leaving the throne vacant.
  • Yue recorded Su’s decision and wrote that the people had begun calling him the Plain King.
  • Su gave Yue the Qilin Tome and forged the Grand Witch-grade [Kanli Shaman Marrow] to help her break through.
  • Su ordered Yue to enter seclusion in the Shaman Qilin Hall and revoked the Spirit Shamans’ access to the Shaman Terrace’s eighth tier.
  • Man learned that Yue’s seclusion and Su’s order had ended his chance to study the Qilin Tome, and he realized she had advanced ahead of him.

Ch. 704The Wonders

After Yue became a Grand Witch, Su used the Qilin Tome to divine a future of upheaval between humans and demons. He entrusted Yue with the Shaman Terrace and the Qilin Tome as he prepared to enter seclusion and seek the Shaman God realm.

  • After Xia Qi died, his youngest son Yu defeated his brothers and became Marquis of Xia, keeping Xia State powerful and respectful toward Jing Kingdom.
  • Su witnessed the exiled Zhou die in poverty, then saw the Shaman Qilin Hall erupt in signs of Yue's breakthrough to Grand Witch.
  • Yue emerged as a Grand Witch, displayed her divine power, and returned the Qilin Tome to Su.
  • Yue revealed that her divine wonder, Suo Qiong Grass, could divine fortune and misfortune and warn her of nearby ill intent.
  • Su asked Yue to read a divination on a cracked tortoise shell, and she saw a Phoenix Great Sage, a rising Demon Race, and future turmoil between humans and demons.
  • Su said humanity would need them and announced that he would enter seclusion to seek the Shaman God realm, leaving Yue in charge of the Shaman Terrace and the Qilin Tome.

Ch. 705The Theft

Yue denied Xian access to the Qilin Tome and gave it to Man for his breakthrough attempt, while Su received the Great Sun Treasure Wheel and began studying the Solar Yang Dao. After Man failed and the Spirit Shamans let Xian study the tome, Xian became consumed by greed, tried to steal it, and fled Jing City when the tome returned to Shaman Qilin Hall.

  • Yue rejected Xian’s request to study the Qilin Tome and summoned Man to attempt a breakthrough to Grand Witch with the tome and Dark Shaman Blood-Chant.
  • Su received the Great Sun Treasure Wheel from his true self and began contemplating the Great Dao of Solar Yang.
  • Nearly ten years later, Man emerged from his failed breakthrough gaunt and injured, prompting the Spirit Shamans to let Xian study the Qilin Tome first.
  • While studying the tome, Xian heard a cicada’s cry and became convinced he should steal it while Yue and Man were away.
  • The Qilin Tome vanished from Xian’s arms and reappeared in Shaman Qilin Hall, so Xian used a secret art and fled Jing City.

Ch. 706Breakthrough

Xian fled the Shaman Terrace after failing to steal the Qilin Tome and settled among the Hairy Folk on a distant Western Continent, where he planned to build a kingdom. Decades later, Man became a Grand Witch, and Yue warned him that demons would bring turmoil to the realm in several hundred years.

  • Xian used a Blood-Soul Substitute Curse to mislead pursuers, then fled west across the sea to a distant continent inhabited by Hairy Folk.
  • Xian transformed Hairy Folk warriors into sparrows, subdued their settlement, and considered making them followers and founding a kingdom.
  • Yue watched Xian reach the Western Continent, returned to the Shaman Terrace, and organized the shamans to attend Xia State's ceremony for its new king.
  • Several decades later, Man emerged from seclusion as a Grand Witch and thanked Yue for her support.
  • Yue told Man that divinations foretold turmoil in several hundred years and revealed visions of demons and Great Sages; Man's divine power shook, and he spat out blood essence.

Ch. 707Qilin's Final Words

After Yue and Man discovered that Su had entered a possibly permanent retreat, the Golden Seats manifested across the world and the Wings Fire seat gave rise to a powerful phoenix sovereign. The new sovereign emerged in Yue, where the kingdom’s capital was devastated and Yuehou Chu and Grand Witch Huo were consumed by the flames.

  • Yue recorded that the Earl of Yue had destroyed Xia and claimed hegemony, then learned that a qilin had appeared near the royal domain.
  • Man brought the Jade Qilin to the Shaman Terrace, where Su declared the Qilin Tome complete and entered a retreat to pursue becoming a Shaman God.
  • Grand Witch Huo told Yuehou Chu that Su might be near death and planned to seize the Qilin Tome after the Shaman Terrace fractured.
  • The twenty-four Golden Seats appeared, and the Wings Fire seat shone brightly as flaming meteors devastated much of Yue and transformed the land into a forest of parasol trees.
  • A phoenix arose from the Wings Fire Golden Seat, burned Yuehou Chu and Huo to ash, and received the birds’ homage as the Nine Chicks Facing the Sunborn Primordial Sovereign.

Ch. 708Fei

After the Fei unleashed a plague that devastated the world and killed Jing’s Queen Mother, Yuan survived and vowed to learn shamanism to protect people from sickness. Su confronted the Fei, then manifested the Shaman Golden Seat, empowering shamans across the world.

  • At the Shaman Terrace, Yue and the Grand Witches divined that Fei would bring a great plague, as disasters spread across the world.
  • The plague reached Jing’s palace, where Yuan’s mother died and Yuan fell ill, but Yue cured him with Witch Medicine.
  • Yue told Yuan that his mother could not be brought back, and Yuan chose to study shamanism so people would no longer suffer from disease and plague.
  • Su recognized Fei as a muddled Great Sage transformed from Root Earth and went to stop it before its plague destroyed Jing Kingdom.
  • Su manifested the [Shaman] Golden Seat, declaring that the path of shamans would flourish and strengthening shamans across the world.

Ch. 709Eastern Sovereign Taiyi

After reaching Golden Core, Su sacrificed Great Sage Fei to create Eastern Sovereign Heaven and establish himself as Eastern Sovereign Taiyi. He sealed the four Great Sun traditions within the new Grotto-Heaven and began building a hierarchy of Shaman Gods, leaving mortals able to seek divine ranks through shamanic rites and faith.

  • Su used shamanic power to bind Fei, then brought the beast to Jing City for a sacrifice attended by Yue, Man, King Yuan, and the people.
  • Su sacrificed Fei and used the rites to create Eastern Sovereign Heaven.
  • Su pledged the [Solar Yang] golden seat to heaven and earth in exchange for authority to ascend as a Shaman God beyond Witch Manifestation.
  • The hundred gods named Su [Eastern Sovereign Taiyi], and he expanded Eastern Sovereign Heaven to imprison the four diminished Great Suns.
  • Su established a divine genealogy beneath his rank, including [Lord of the Clouds], and declared that shamans could become Shaman Gods through rites while mortal faith strengthened their ranks.

Ch. 710Order of Rank

After Eastern Sovereign Taiyi’s sacrifice ended the plague, Yue received the [Moon God] order of rank and began pursuing the Shaman God position. She discovered that Yuan had developed a practical plague-warding witchcraft, then sensed that a mysterious power had taken an interest in him.

  • Man told Yue that the plague had stopped spreading and that the Parasol Tree Golden Platform’s forces had retreated south of Dreamcloud Marsh, and they agreed to pursue the Shaman God rank.
  • Yue found a crescent mark on her Bronze Nuo Mask and learned it was the [Moon God] order of rank, which gave her a path toward becoming a Shaman God.
  • Su saw [Moon God] appear in Eastern Sovereign Heaven’s hierarchy and considered granting the [Mountain Ghost] mask to another person.
  • Spirit Shaman Sang reported that Yuan had advanced to Lesser Shaman and invented Hound-Controlling Gu, a witchcraft that could ward cities against plague.
  • Yuan asked for a chance to study the Qilin Tome, but Yue sensed an inexplicable force around him and suspected that a great being had included him in its plans.

Ch. 711Two Hundred Years

In year 20,800, Grand Witch Yuan captured an Azure Luan Demon King and returned to the Nine-Tier Shaman Terrace, where his search for a way to resurrect his mother remained fruitless. As Grand Witch Yue’s seclusion appeared to end, Yuan resolved that advancing to Shaman God might help him find the spirit left after death.

  • Grand Witch Yuan arrived in the battle at Dreamcloud Marsh and used the Qilin Tome to capture the Azure Luan Demon King, while the defeated demons fled.
  • Yuan discussed distributing Copperhide Iron Gu and Epidemic-Preventing Gu with Grand Witch Gong, then ordered the Azure Luan prepared for a sacrifice.
  • Back in his cave, Yuan used the Nine-Sophora Soul-Inquiry True Spell on a condemned prisoner, but the man’s death revealed no soul or spirit.
  • Yuan renewed his determination to bring his mother back after recalling that sixteen methods from the Qilin Tome had failed.
  • Lunar Yin energy transformed the Shaman Terrace as Grand Witch Yue emerged from nearly two hundred years of seclusion, and Yuan wondered whether becoming a Shaman God could reveal what remained after death.

Ch. 712A Sudden Upheaval

Yue recovered her past and became the [Moon God], then accepted [Eastern Sovereign Taiyi]’s command to watch over Lunar Yin. At the Shaman Terrace, Yuan sacrificed a great demon and used the Witch Medicines to unleash a massacre, filling the [Mountain Ghost] position with the lives and power of the Jing Kingdom’s people.

  • Yue created her own Grotto-Heaven, remembered her past life, and attained the position of [Moon God].
  • [Eastern Sovereign Taiyi] ordered Yue to oversee Lunar Yin and told her that Yuan’s life suited the [Mountain Ghost] position.
  • Yuan celebrated Yue’s ascension by sacrificing the Azure Luan demon in the Dark Shaman Cauldron and distributing its Witch Medicines among the Grand Witches.
  • The Witch Medicines released Gu insects that killed Shamans and mortals across the Shaman Terrace, including the Jing Son of Heaven, and drew their blood energy into the cauldron.
  • Yuan used the Qilin Tome and his Nuo Mask to absorb the power and fill the [Mountain Ghost] position, declaring that he would become a Shaman God.

Ch. 713Mountain Ghost

After Yuan destroyed the Jing Kingdom and became Mountain Ghost, he discovered that his mother’s True Spirit had already vanished. Eastern Sovereign Taiyi punished him by binding him to the ruins of Jing City, where Yuan found hope in waiting for the future Nether Bureau to open.

  • The Moon God showed Eastern Sovereign Taiyi the fall of Jing and discussed Yuan’s destiny and the consequences of destroying the kingdom.
  • The surviving Grand Witches fled the Shaman Terrace as Yuan’s blood sacrifice transformed him into Mountain Ghost.
  • Mountain Ghost saw that the dead retained True Spirits but learned that his mother’s spirit had long since returned to heaven and earth.
  • Overwhelmed by grief and rage, Mountain Ghost threatened to unleash calamity, while the Great Sages hid from the sun that appeared beside the Great Sun.
  • Eastern Sovereign Taiyi suppressed Mountain Ghost in ruined Jing City and declared that he must guard the Nine Extremities.
  • Yuan accepted his confinement after learning that the future Nether Bureau might allow his mother’s True Spirit to reincarnate.

Ch. 714Passing on the Dao

Fang Qing began teaching the Immortal Dao at the Heaven of Purple Firmament, explaining how cultivators could pursue Divine Abilities and the Golden Core. Shi Tianzun realized that the gathering included Great Sages but no shamans, leaving him to wonder what that meant for the new teaching.

  • Man learned that Jing Kingdom had fallen and its sacred relics were lost, then led the surviving Grand Witches away to seek a fiefdom.
  • Fang Qing considered the slow growth of cultivation and decided to spread the Dao himself.
  • Shi Tianzun and Shi Tianfeng fled south through Dreamcloud Marsh with their household after the fall of Jing Kingdom.
  • Fang Qing's summons transported the Shi brothers and others to the Heaven of Purple Firmament, where First Phoenix arrived and entered the hall.
  • Fang Qing announced he would pass on the Dao and explained the Immortal Dao's paths, Divine Abilities, and Golden Core to the gathered Great Sages and newcomers.
  • Shi Tianzun noticed that Fang Qing had accepted no shamans among those gathered.

Ch. 715Mountain Ghost

The [Moon God] and [Eastern Sovereign Taiyi] discussed Yuan’s rise as [Mountain Ghost] and the consequences of destroying the Jing Kingdom. After Yuan transformed and discovered that his mother’s True Spirit had long since vanished, [Eastern Sovereign Taiyi] suppressed him in the ruins of Jing City, where he was left with a faint hope that [Nether Warden] might one day enable her reincarnation.

  • The [Moon God] visited [Eastern Sovereign Taiyi] and showed him the destruction of the Jing Kingdom, while they discussed Yuan’s destiny and the cost of his actions.
  • Surviving Grand Witches fled the Shaman Terrace and sought Man as Yuan’s blood sacrifice elevated him to [Mountain Ghost].
  • [Mountain Ghost] saw the True Spirits of the dead and realized that his mother, who had died centuries earlier, could not return.
  • Overcome by grief and resentment, [Mountain Ghost] threatened to unleash calamity, but [Eastern Sovereign Taiyi] silenced the watching Great Sages and trapped him in Jing City as punishment.
  • [Eastern Sovereign Taiyi] told [Mountain Ghost] to guard the Nine Extremities until [Nether Warden] opened the Nether Bureau, giving Yuan hope that his mother might then reincarnate.

Ch. 716Passing on the Dao

Fang Qing established the Mystic Dao and summoned people of destiny to the Heaven of Purple Firmament to hear him preach the Immortal Dao. Shi Tianzun and Shi Tianfeng arrived among the listeners and realized that no practitioner of Shamanism had been invited.

  • Man saw that Jing City had become Fengdu, blamed Yuan and the gods for Jing Kingdom’s fall, and led the surviving Grand Witches away to find a fief.
  • Fang Qing observed the fallen Jing Kingdom and decided to spread the Dao himself to speed the world’s development.
  • Shi Tianzun and Shi Tianfeng fled south through Dreamcloud Marsh with their household after escaping the calamity that destroyed Jing Kingdom.
  • Fang Qing summoned people of destiny to the Heaven of Purple Firmament, where Shi Tianzun and Shi Tianfeng saw First Phoenix and other powerful beings arrive.
  • Fang Qing began teaching the Mystic Dao, explaining its paths, Divine Abilities, Golden Core, and Golden Seats.
  • Shi Tianzun realized that no practitioners of Shamanism had been invited to hear Fang Qing teach.

Ch. 717Founding a Kingdom

Fang Qing gave his second sermon, taught the Dao Foundation cultivators about Divine Abilities and Purple Mansion, and created a Water Virtue Auxiliary Seat. Afterward, a Fire Phoenix tasked the Shi brothers with founding a kingdom in Dreamcloud Marsh to buffer the Parasol Tree Golden Platform from the Qi Kingdom.

  • Shi Tianfeng and Shi Tianzun discussed their first sermon and resolved to cultivate immortality, with Shi Tianzun choosing the [Turtle Beak Fire] Dao Lineage.
  • Fang Qing fashioned a Water Virtue Auxiliary Seat with Lunar Yin authority and summoned only cultivators who had reached the Dao Foundation stage for his second sermon.
  • Fang Qing taught Divine Abilities, Purple Mansion, and their combinations, then announced that the next sermon would be a hundred years later and concern cultivation beyond Golden Core.
  • Shi Tianzun told Shi Tianfeng that First Phoenix seemed to have noticed him, and a red-dressed Fire Phoenix gave him a [Mystic Fire Golden Parasol].
  • The Fire Phoenix granted the Shi brothers Dreamcloud Marsh and ordered them to gather refugees and establish a kingdom as a buffer against the Qi Kingdom.
  • The Fire Phoenix told her two daughters that the sovereign had chosen the Shi brothers because they could help the demons resist Shamanism and reduce the bloodshed.

Ch. 718Deathless

Shi Tianzun founded Great Chu as Southern Chu, while Man received a hint from [Moon God] that he needed Deathless Grass to extend his life and pursue Shaman Godhood. Man entered Fengdu to search for the grass and reclaim shamanic treasures, but the chapter left his prisoners facing a deadly presence as he forced them to find it.

  • Shi Tianzun declared the kingdom of Great Chu and chose Fire Virtue, while Shi Tianfeng suspected his brother intended to conquer the realm.
  • [Eastern Sovereign Taiyi] predicted Shi Tianzun would gain Divine Ability and become a Purple Mansion True Person within a century.
  • Man received a moonlight jade pellet from [Moon God] and learned that Deathless Grass in Fengdu could help him extend his lifespan.
  • Man vowed to enter Fengdu, undergo the Shaman Gods' trial, and reclaim the Dark Shaman Cauldron and Qilin Tome.
  • Man arrived in Fengdu and sent condemned prisoners into the city to search for Deathless Grass; a mysterious presence killed several of them, and one prisoner was ordered to find the grass or face consequences.

Ch. 719Stealing the Spirit Herb

Grand Witch Man escaped Fengdu with the Deathless Grass and Dark Shaman Cauldron, then refined a Deathless Elixir in Northern Qi. After Nine-Phoenix drew him away from the Shaman Terrace, Jiang stole the elixir, leaving Man devastated and apparently undergoing a transformation.

  • Grand Witch Man seized the Dark Shaman Cauldron from Grand Witch Ji, but the Mountain Ghost marked him until Lunar Yin hid his life and allowed him to escape with the Deathless Grass.
  • Man returned to Northern Qi and learned that his disciple Jiang had advanced to Grand Witch, gaining the wondrous power Lead-to-Mercury Transmutation.
  • Man used the Dark Shaman Cauldron and the Deathless Grass to refine a Deathless Elixir, which was nearly ready after forty-nine days.
  • Nine-Phoenix attacked Northern Qi and kept Man occupied in battle, revealing that it had deliberately left the territory open to lure him away.
  • Man returned to find the Deathless Elixir stolen, identified Jiang as the culprit through her transformation, and broke down as his body began shedding metal, jade, and stone.

Ch. 720Three Times

Man became Wu Mountain after his death, and Jiang claimed the mountain and renamed himself Xiang. Nearly a century later, Shi Tianfeng formed his Divine Ability and joined Shi Tianzun at Fang Qing’s third lecture, where Fang Qing explained paths beyond the Golden Core and hinted at hope for the rare Water Virtue and Great Sun Dao Paths.

  • Man died and became a mountain outside Northern Qi’s capital, fulfilling his wish to watch the Jiang bloodline and Qi Capital.
  • Grand Witch Jiang bowed to his former master, claimed the mountain from two rival Grand Witches, renamed himself Xiang, and put on a Nuo Mask.
  • Shi Tianfeng successfully formed the Clear-as-Turbid Divine Ability, and Shi Tianzun celebrated with him in Chu Capital.
  • Shi Tianzun and Shi Tianfeng attended Fang Qing’s third lecture, where Fang Qing discussed cultivation beyond the Golden Core and introduced several alternative paths.
  • First Phoenix asked about Shamanism, and Fang Qing described immortals and gods as different ways of seeking the Dao.
  • Shi Tianzun asked why Water Virtue and Great Sun cultivation were so rare, and Fang Qing said an Auxiliary Seat still offered hope.

Ch. 721Treasure Division

Fang Qing concluded his three Dao sermons, awarded four Auxiliary Seat imprints, and sent the cultivators to claim treasures from Treasure-Dividing Cliff. The Great Sages took the finest items first, while Shi Tianzun and Shi Tianfeng reached the cliff amid the remaining treasures and growing rivalries.

  • Fang Qing explained the Four Auxiliary Seats and told Shi Tianfeng that the Water Virtue path suited the Bane Star seat.
  • Gui Sang asked to become Fang Qing’s personal disciple, but Fang Qing deferred the matter and continued answering questions over several days.
  • Fang Qing ended the sermons and bestowed Rahu on First Phoenix, Ketu on Gui Sang, purple qi on a Wood Virtue Great Sage, and Bane Star on Shi Tianfeng.
  • Fang Qing sent the cultivators to Treasure-Dividing Cliff, where the Great Sages seized the finest treasures before the Purple Mansion cultivators arrived.
  • Shi Tianzun claimed the Azure Luan Seal, while Shi Tianfeng sensed an affinity with the Mysterious Primordial Water-Control Banner as other cultivators gathered at the cliff.

Ch. 722Arrangements

Shi Tianzun and Shi Tianfeng welcomed a proposed alliance between Chu Kingdom and the Parasol Tree Golden Platform, while Chu shamans secretly vowed to seek the Qilin Tome in Fengdu. In the Heaven of Purple Firmament, Fang Qing considered how to use Golden Seats and True Spirits to shape future struggles over the Dao.

  • Shi Tianzun recognized Shi Tianfeng’s extraordinary Water Virtue signs and learned that his Clear-as-Turbid Divine Ability was nearing completion.
  • Lady Mi arrived on behalf of her sovereign to propose a formal alliance with Chu Kingdom, and Shi Tianzun accepted and ordered preparations for an oath before [Eastern Sovereign Taiyi].
  • At the Shaman Terrace, Xing declared he would travel to Fengdu to recover the Qilin Tome and open a path to Grand Witchhood for the Southern Shamans.
  • The Chu Spirit Shamans swore that whoever recovered the Qilin Tome would become master of the Shaman Terrace.
  • Fang Qing considered bestowing Auxiliary Seats on Great Sages and future Golden Core True Lords, then weighed whether Supreme Unity Ancestor’s True Spirit should enter Fire Virtue.

Ch. 723Western Continent

Fang Qing restored Sangji’s former life and sent him to the Western Continent as its Earth Virtue Sage, where Sangji established the Earth Esoteric Sect. The continent’s inhabitants began gaining strange powers, and Fang Qing considered making it a place to cultivate Lunar Yin Year Guardians.

  • Gui Sang entered the Heaven of Purple Firmament, remembered his former life as Sangji, and accepted Fang Qing as his master.
  • Fang Qing named Sangji the Sage of the West and ordered him to spread a new Dao across the Western Continent.
  • Sangji crossed the sea through Fang Qing’s Veil and discovered a continent divided among warring kingdoms with few established cultivation paths.
  • Sangji summoned a stone giant, declared himself the Earth Father God, and established the Earth Esoteric Sect by offering mortals his flesh, blood, and teachings.
  • People who consumed the giant’s flesh and blood transformed, while esoteric believers gained powers and some kings made the sect their state religion.
  • Fang Qing watched the new movement spread and considered using the Western Continent to cultivate Lunar Yin Year Guardians.

Ch. 724King of Chu

In 21,000 GWC, Shi Tianzun planned a northern campaign to destroy Northern Qi and prove the imperial [Turtle Beak Fire] Golden Seat, while Shi Tianfeng worried about Golden Core powers intervening. The chapter ended with Shi Tianfeng watching shamans depart for Fengdu and wondering whether the Qilin Tome truly bestowed heaven’s mandate.

  • Shi Tianfeng reflected on Southern Chu’s rise and met Mi Xingkong, who escorted him to the palace at Shi Tianzun’s summons.
  • Shi Tianfeng congratulated Shi Tianzun on perfecting his Divine Abilities, and Shi Tianzun revealed that he intended to prove an imperial [Turtle Beak Fire] Golden Seat.
  • Shi Tianzun announced that he would crush Northern Qi, capture its ruler, and present the captive at the Shaman Terrace to prove his Dao as an Emperor-Lord.
  • Shi Tianfeng warned that [Eastern Sovereign Taiyi], [Moon God], and Fengdu’s [Mountain Ghost] could threaten the campaign, but Shi Tianzun said he expected the Shaman Gods to remain neutral and would seek audiences with them.
  • Shi Tianzun entrusted preparations for the northern campaign to Shi Tianfeng, who left the palace and watched Spirit Shamans and Lesser Shamans depart for Fengdu in search of the Qilin Tome.

Ch. 725Heaven's Mandate

Shi Tianfeng confronted Qi Grand Witch Ma at Fengdu and killed him after unleashing his Water Virtue abilities. Inside the ruined city, a black cat turned into a young shaman and found the Qilin Tome in Shaman Qilin Hall.

  • Chu Shamans entered Fengdu to search for its treasures and the Qilin Tome while Shi Tianfeng met the Chu Grand Witch in the Great Void.
  • Shi Tianfeng learned that Qi Shamans were trying to raise Lady Xiang to divine status through sacrifices.
  • Grand Witch Ma tried to curse Shi Tianfeng, but Shi Tianfeng broke the curse and trapped him and the other shamans with the Mysterious Primordial Water-Control Banner.
  • Shi Tianfeng killed Grand Witch Ma and told the Chu Grand Witch to wait for the outcome of their expedition into Fengdu.
  • A Lesser Shaman encountered a hunched old man and died as beetles poured from his body; the old man’s booklet changed from Ten Methods of the Spirit Shaman to Ten Methods of Seeing Ghosts.
  • A black cat retrieved the booklet, reached Shaman Qilin Hall, and found the Qilin Tome on a meditation cushion.

Ch. 726Chu He

Eastern Sovereign Taiyi discussed the Qilin Tome and the rival claims of Chu and Qi as Southern Chu launched its northern campaign. Shi Tianfeng and Grand Witch Xiang clashed, and after she withdrew, he urged Shi Tianzun to take command before Xiang could ascend to Shaman God.

  • The Moon God returned the Qilin Tome to the Chu Shamans, and Eastern Sovereign Taiyi said he favored the Shi brothers while acknowledging that Lady Xiang or the Xiang Lord might still contend for the Golden Core.
  • Southern Chu and Northern Qi assembled their forces along the Xiang River, where Shi Tianfeng faced Grand Witch Xiang and warned her to abandon her claim.
  • Shi Tianfeng used the Mysterious Primordial Water-Control Banner to force Purple Mansion cultivators into the physical world and challenged Grand Witch Xiang despite her threat to curse his auspicious signs.
  • Grand Witch Xiang blinded and deafened Shi Tianfeng with a curse, but he broke free using his divine abilities and struck her apparent body, which proved to be a decoy.
  • Grand Witch Xiang and the Northern Qi Grand Witches withdrew, and Shi Tianfeng told Mi Xingkong and the others that Chu had won time to attack Northern Qi.
  • Shi Tianfeng concluded that Grand Witch Xiang would seek to ascend to Shaman God and sent word for Shi Tianzun to take command of the campaign.

Ch. 727Xiang Lord

Grand Witch Xiang demanded that the King of Qi begin a sacrifice to make her [Lady Xiang], but he exposed her crimes and used the Dark Shaman Cauldron to kill and refine her into the rank of [Xiang Lord]. [Moon God] judged that the King of Qi sought to combine shamanism and Numinous Treasure Immortal, while [Eastern Sovereign Taiyi] declared Northern Qi would fall and Great Chu’s era would begin as a violet flame reached Qi Capital.

  • Grand Witch Xiang entered Qi’s royal palace and demanded that the King of Qi authorize the sacrifice for her ascension as [Lady Xiang].
  • The King of Qi refused, and Grand Witch Xiang attacked him and the gathered Purple Mansion True Persons with mercury magic and Witchcraft Gu.
  • The King of Qi revealed that he had secretly gained formidable power, accused Grand Witch Xiang of harming Northern Qi’s worthy cultivators, and sentenced her to death.
  • The King of Qi used the Dark Shaman Cauldron and Northern Qi’s national fortune to suppress and refine Grand Witch Xiang, obtaining the rank of [Xiang Lord].
  • [Moon God] judged that the King of Qi planned to use Northern Qi’s strength to advance as a Shaman God while keeping Numinous Treasure Immortal as a fallback.
  • [Eastern Sovereign Taiyi] declared that Northern Qi must perish and Great Chu’s era would follow, as a violet flame arrived outside Qi Capital.
