History

Academy and Team Seven

Sasuke was the Ninja Academy's top student and the surviving pride of the Uchiha Clan. Though outwardly aloof, he recognizes that repeated losses to Naruto stemmed from his own insufficient effort rather than a lack of talent. 3

He was assigned to Team Seven alongside Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno under Hatake Kakashi. During Kakashi's bell test, Sasuke supported Naruto's attack with kunai, allowing Naruto's sword strike to connect with Kakashi's Shadow Clone. 3 5

During the Chunin Exams, Sasuke protected Sakura from Sand ninja and later fought Kankurō. He used the Sharingan's dynamic vision to evade Crow's poisoned attacks, locate Kankurō, and retaliate with Fire Release and explosive-tag shuriken. 10 27

Future Sasuke interrupted the brothers' battle and brought them to Konoha, where Sasuke learned that the Uchiha massacre had been ordered by a small group within the village rather than its general populace.
