Unexpected Reinforcements

"Reinforcements? Where did reinforcements come from?"

Not only Huang Long's side found it baffling; even the Purple Savage Elephant and Tong Ape thought it absurd.

The demon hunter Yudian had actually summoned help—someone capable of intervening in their battle. If such a being truly existed on this island, how could they possibly not know about it?

"Come out! Great Golden Roc!" The demon hunter Yudian revealed a strange smile and calmly looked toward a nearby hillside as he let out a soft call.

"Kree!" A thunderous bird cry suddenly rang out from that direction. A massive golden figure shot out from behind the low hill and, in the blink of an eye, appeared on the battlefield.

The newcomer was surprisingly the Great Golden Roc that had retreated without fighting earlier. Now, it had suddenly returned at this moment. Apart from the demon hunter Yudian, no one present knew what the Great Golden Roc intended.

"Haha, hero of the Elven race, it seems you've chosen to cooperate with me!" The feathers on the Great Golden Roc's body had completely transformed into golden energy, leaving it looking utterly pure, without a trace of impurity.

"What's going on?" Seeing this, Huang Long's eyes flashed with confusion as he looked questioningly at the demon hunter Yudian.

"Clan Chief, that's right. When I confronted this bird earlier, I had already made an agreement with it." Sensing Huang Long's gaze, the demon hunter Yudian spoke expressionlessly.

"The agreement was that as long as the power you displayed surpassed those two, I would lend you a hand and eliminate them. In exchange, I want you to provide me with ten leaves from that great tree of yours!" The Great Golden Roc made no attempt to hide anything, laying out its deal with the demon hunter Yudian in full.

"Bastard! How can you do this? Even if you don't want to help us deal with these elves, how can you help these elves deal with me?!" the Purple Savage Elephant roared, its voice filled with shock and incomprehension.

"Haha, you old elephant. Though you've lived for nearly a thousand years, as a member of the Golden-Winged Roc Clan, the strongest clan on the continent, the ancient secrets and inherited memories I know far surpass those of a mongrel wild elephant like you!" the Great Golden Roc sneered.

"Bastard!"

"Purple Savage Elephant, stop playing dumb. Do you think I don't know why you've remained here all these years and stubbornly refused to break through to Level 8?" The Great Golden Roc wore a look of disdain, as though it knew the Purple Savage Elephant's schemes inside out.

"Let me remind you. This island is one of the most peculiar places below. It can accommodate beings only up to Level 7. Once someone exceeds that limit, they will be rejected by the world's power saturating this place and teleported off the island. And you, old elephant, have been ruling this place all these years, cozying up to weaker Level 7 magical beasts, all so they could help you search for the rumored Ancient Tree of Life! This stupid monkey is probably your next target, isn't it?!"

"Y-You... what nonsense are you spouting?!" the Purple Savage Elephant cried in alarm and fury.

"Don't think your work was flawless. All these years, I deliberately acted arrogant just to lower your guard. Do you think the inheritance of the most orthodox Golden-Winged Roc Clan is comparable to those useless fools with nothing but weeds in their heads?" The Great Golden Roc displayed a humanlike sneer.

"What are you saying?! Tong Ape, kill him at once!" The Purple Savage Elephant did not dare let the Great Golden Roc continue and immediately sent Tong Ape charging toward it.

"Yes!" Though Tong Ape was somewhat doubtful after hearing the Great Golden Roc's words, it had always obeyed the Purple Savage Elephant's commands. Thus, it did not hesitate in the slightest before attacking the Great Golden Roc.

"Idiot!" the Great Golden Roc cursed inwardly. It truly had not expected that, even after it had said so much, this foolish Tong Ape would still obey the Purple Savage Elephant without a second word.

What a waste of breath!

It had originally hoped to use its words to drive a wedge between the Purple Savage Elephant and Tong Ape, but it had not expected Tong Ape to be so stubborn.

"Ina, we'll deal with Tong Ape. Great Golden Roc, leave that Purple Savage Elephant to you!" The demon hunter Yudian smiled faintly as he spoke slowly. Even Huang Long was startled by that smile.

"Hey, that's not fair! How can you do this? You two are both so powerful—how can you gang up on a weak big monkey?" The Great Golden Roc froze upon hearing the demon hunter Yudian's words, then immediately complained.

"Because you're the strongest," the demon hunter Yudian said casually. At the same time, his body flashed, and he instantly blocked Tong Ape's path.

"That's true!" The Great Golden Roc no longer hesitated. This poor fellow clearly had no idea that those were words Huang Long had casually used to tease Yudian, only for them to now be used on it.

"Golden Roc Dance Whirlwind!" The Great Golden Roc spread its golden wings with all its might and shot into the air. It then twisted and danced through the sky, circling overhead as fierce winds abruptly arose.

The trees beneath the Great Golden Roc were uprooted as though a hurricane had swept through. Even Huang Long, standing far away, could feel the air trembling from the violent currents.

"Damn it, this move again!" the Purple Savage Elephant cursed inwardly. It did not dare linger. It had suffered greatly from this move of the Great Golden Roc before, so it instinctively chose to flee.

"Monkey, leave the moment you get a chance!" the Purple Savage Elephant roared.

"It still has a little chance. But you... probably don't." The demon hunter Yudian stood straight before Tong Ape. Though he made no movement, an intense aura naturally rose from him, making Tong Ape afraid to act rashly.

"Ina, are you ready to fight alongside me?" A graceful curve lifted at the corner of Yudian's mouth. Though his eyes were covered, he exuded an exceptionally handsome charm.

"Yes, Lord Yudian!" In that instant, the archer captain Ina was deeply captivated by the demon hunter Yudian's bearing. Hearing his words, she tightened her grip on her bow, fixed her determined gaze on Tong Ape ahead, and answered.

"Then, let the battle begin!"
