Killing Intent Arose

Half an hour after Huang Long had just fallen asleep, a tremendous boom rang out, echoing throughout the forest of the Night Elf faction.

"Esteemed elven chieftain, the Great Golden Roc has come again! I found the book you wanted!"

"That damned bastard!" The demon hunter Yudian, who had been resting with his eyes closed, was jolted awake by the shout. He cursed inwardly, then flashed into the air in an instant and coldly stared at the startled Great Golden Roc.

"Hey! Yudian, why are you in such a hurry? No, that's anger. Hey, what gives you the right to be so disrespectful to the noble Lord Great Golden Roc?"

"What? Did going back make you hide your true nature again?" Facing the Great Golden Roc, the demon hunter Yudian curled his lips in what seemed to be a mocking smile.

"Hey, could you stop ruining my image all the time?" the Great Golden Roc said unhappily.

"Is that so?" The demon hunter Yudian's lips curled slightly as the Warglaives of Azzinoth in his hands continuously danced and shifted through different flourishes.

"Alright, it was you last time, and now you're doing it again. Can't you give me some face?" Cold sweat trickled down the Great Golden Roc's brow as it looked at the two Warglaives of Azzinoth.

"I'm telling you, from now on, if you dare put on that act in front of me again, believe it or not, I'll cripple you." A strange curve hung on the demon hunter Yudian's lips.

"I... Yudian, you don't have to target me like this, do you?" the Great Golden Roc said bitterly.

"Mm, first warning!" The demon hunter Yudian slowly raised one finger and said in a deep voice.

"Alright! Yudian, stop scaring the Great Golden Roc!" Huang Long emerged from the depths of the forest just then.

"Chieftain, you're awake?" Sensing Huang Long's arrival, the demon hunter Yudian sneered at the Great Golden Roc and said no more.

"I was woken by a noisy fellow. If I hadn't come out, that fellow might have gotten beaten up by the two of you." Huang Long yawned and glanced at the distant Great Golden Roc, his tone carrying intense displeasure.

"My apologies, Chieftain. I didn't know you were resting. I'm truly sorry!" The Great Golden Roc immediately put away all its dissatisfaction and said with a smile.

"Did you bring everything?" Huang Long asked, rubbing his sleepy eyes and yawning repeatedly.

"Yes, Chieftain, please inspect them!" The Great Golden Roc revealed a fawning smile and tossed down the bundle wrapped in a large leaf that it had been carrying in its claws.

"Master, look!" Ina, the archer captain, picked up the miscellaneous items from the ground and handed them to Huang Long.

"Alright, you may all withdraw for now. Let me rest a little longer. Call me tomorrow morning." Huang Long briefly flipped through the books and smiled at the demon hunter Yudian and Ina, the archer captain. The exhaustion on his face was impossible to hide.

"Yes, Master!"

"Yes, Chieftain!"

Ina, the archer captain, and the demon hunter Yudian replied with bows.

"Why aren't you leaving already?" Ina, the archer captain, said impatiently as she looked at the Great Golden Roc. She did not have the slightest favorable impression of the fellow before her. It had first killed many of her clansmen, then disturbed her master's sleep, and she was finding it more and more unpleasant to look at. She simply could not understand how this Great Golden Roc could be so thick-skinned.

"Um, Chieftain, is there no... reward?" the Great Golden Roc asked cautiously, as though reminding him.

Hearing this, Huang Long frowned inwardly. He disliked it greatly, but did not show it on his face. Instead, he said calmly, "Ina, give the Great Golden Roc another cup of Moon Well water."

As though he had heard the displeasure in Huang Long's tone, the demon hunter Yudian's lips once again lifted into a strange smile. Other than Huang Long, neither of the other two noticed it.

"Understood, Master!" Ina, the archer captain, answered and turned to fetch the Moon Well water.

After quite a while, Ina, the archer captain, returned somewhat unwillingly and handed the cup filled with Moon Well water to the Great Golden Roc under its delighted gaze.

"Many thanks, Chieftain!" The Great Golden Roc hurriedly thanked Huang Long excitedly, snatched up the cup, poured it into a container, offered another word of thanks, and turned to leave.

"Master, look at what that Great Golden Roc has become. It merely added flowers to brocade once. If you keep indulging it like this, then..." Ina, the archer captain, could not help but complain to Huang Long as she watched the Great Golden Roc's departing back.

"Ina, stop talking. Master naturally knows how to handle this matter. There is no need for you to offer your opinions," the demon hunter Yudian interrupted Ina, the archer captain, and said deeply. "Just do your duty as a subordinate."

After saying that, the demon hunter Yudian turned toward Huang Long with a smile on his face. "Isn't that right, Master?"

When Huang Long heard the demon hunter Yudian call him Master, he froze. Then his face filled with wild delight as he looked at Yudian excitedly. "It seems you acknowledge my identity and status."

After hearing Huang Long's words, the demon hunter Yudian said nothing more and merely nodded slightly. Though he had not spoken, that was already enough for Huang Long.

"Haha! Excellent. But now, I want to test you. How do you think I should deal with the Great Golden Roc? After all, it could be considered a benefactor of our Night Elf faction, and it has always regarded itself as our clan's benefactor." A sharp glint flashed through Huang Long's eyes as he recalled a part of the story from Warcraft, and he could not help asking the demon hunter Yudian.

"Doesn't Master already have the answer in his heart? Asking me is merely superfluous." The demon hunter Yudian wore a dangerous smile. Though his expression was gentle, his aura was filled with killing intent.

"It seems the three of us are all of one mind!" Huang Long looked at Ina, the archer captain, and the smiling demon hunter Yudian, a cold expression appearing on his face.

"However, the Night Elf faction is not strong enough yet, so we'll spare its life for now. It won't be too late to act once we have several level-six units. Besides, we must be careful. After all, this Great Golden Roc is also part of the Golden-Winged Roc Clan. The plan must be foolproof. We absolutely cannot arouse even the slightest suspicion. Understood?"

"Understood. But I'll only handle the killing. I don't care about anything else." The demon hunter Yudian grinned.
