Appearance

Tang San's God Realm body is a blue-haired, blue-gold-eyed man associated with the Sea God's Mansion and the Sea God's Trident. His Lower Realm incarnation initially inhabits Tang Shan's ordinary human body, but years of hardship frequently leave it ragged, bandaged, and bloodied. 15 57 118

  • His Clear Sky Hammer gradually acquires blood-red patterns and a baleful aura through Asura Power and later blood-based cultivation. 118 260
  • When his killing intent overwhelms him, dark-red energy can form a temporary replacement limb from his severed leg. 215
  • Following his ascent to Limit Douluo, the Lower Realm incarnation painfully transforms into a silver tree before being taken into the Order God Kingdom. 439

Personality

Tang San is intensely controlling and views the Douluo Plane as the centerpiece of a ten-thousand-year plan. The emergence of an unforeseen second Child of Fortune provokes immediate malice, and he repeatedly seeks indirect means to restore his influence after the God of Destruction blocks direct interference. 15 57

His Lower Realm incarnation inherits this ambition and confidence, but prolonged misfortune, bodily mutilation, and exploitation by the Holy Spirit Cult erode his restraint. He initially attempts to avoid trouble at Shrek, yet later becomes paranoid, bloodthirsty, and willing to murder strangers to repair his Martial Soul. 118 251

Despite this decline, he remains highly resilient. He repeatedly endures soul injuries, forced cultivation, physical collapse, and losses of power while treating every recovery as an opportunity to surpass his God Realm main body. 160 291 359

Abilities & Skills

Divine Sense Incarnation and Possession

Tang San's God Realm main body uses Divine Sense to act in the lower realm despite restrictions on direct intervention.

  • Overwrites Tang Shan's original personality and memories while retaining the vessel's human body and soul. 57
  • Uses the incarnation to pursue the Sea God Trial, cultivate independently, and re-establish influence in the Douluo Plane. 57
  • His remote authority is limited; at the time of possession, the main body can only issue simple commands from afar. 57

Sea God Authority

As the Sea God, Tang San governs the Sea God Trial and formerly possessed the Sea God Seat.

  • Channels trial rewards and divine power to his Lower Realm incarnation. 118 130
  • Uses the Sea God Seat to manage the conflicting Asura God Seat within himself. 130
  • Attempts to suppress the Sea God Seat when Wang Dong'er completes the trial and becomes its legitimate successor. 445
  • Ultimately relinquishes the Sea God Seat after being forced to choose between it and the Asura God Position. 449 450

Asura God Power

Dark-red Asura Power grants Tang San exceptional physical reinforcement and destructive killing intent.

  • Enhances the Lower Realm incarnation's body, Soul Power, and Clear Sky Hammer through Sea God Trial rewards. 118
  • Forms a temporary dark-red energy leg after Tang Ya destroys his right leg. 215
  • Causes loss of reason when its killing intent overwhelms him. 214 215
  • The God Realm main body once bore the Asura God Seat alongside the Sea God Seat, but this divided power and strained his control. 130 450
  • Kong Ming'an progressively steals the Asura God Position Origin and eventually strips Tang San of his remaining Asura Power. 448 450

Clear Sky Hammer and Soul Ring Techniques

Tang San's principal Martial Soul is the Clear Sky Hammer.

  • Uses Invincible Golden Body as a defensive Soul Skill, though repeated activation taxes him heavily at the Soul King level. 213 239
  • Employs Explode Ring to generate short bursts of power, including against Tang Ya and an Evil Soul Master. 214 239
  • Uses the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer during Tang Ya's assault. 214
  • His hammer suffers severe cracking after an Evil Soul Master shatters the Martial Soul during their confrontation. 239
  • Later blood-based cultivation further alters the hammer with dark-red patterns. 251 260

Tang Sect Secret Arts

Tang San uses several Tang Sect techniques, which Tang Ya identifies as stolen due to his family background.

  • Techniques used include Mysterious Jade Hand, Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon, Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, Purple Demon Eye, and Mysterious Heaven Skill. 215
  • Tang Ya destroys the foundations of these arts by crippling his meridians, sealing key acupoints, piercing his eyes, and damaging his Dantian. 215
  • His impaired meridians later make even forced use of Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track Steps agonizing and incomplete. 239

Blood Swallowing Method and Harvesting

After discovering an Evil Soul Master's inheritance, Tang San adopts blood-based cultivation to restore and strengthen himself.

  • Acquires the Blood Swallowing Method and a dark-red Spirit Bone from the Evil Soul Master's corpse. 239
  • Absorbs a ten-thousand-year head Soul Bone with a blood-swallowing ability, despite its violent and bloodthirsty influence. 251
  • Murders a drunken man and consumes his blood to test the method and rapidly increase his power. 251
  • Later uses Harvesting on Evil Soul Masters and criminals to accelerate cultivation. 413 439

Rakshasa God Seat

The Lower Realm incarnation later gains a separate divine inheritance.

  • The imprisoned God Realm main body discovers the Rakshasa God Seat within his Spiritual Sea and reaches only ten percent control before being interrupted. 459
  • Lower Realm Tang San then appears and reveals that he has already inherited the seat. 459

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Sea God's Trident — Tang San's former divine weapon; he uses it to withstand the God of Destruction's pressure, but Kong Ming'an later forcibly removes it. 15 450
  • Asura Divine Sword — Extracted from Xiao Wu to access the Asura God Position Origin; it later changes allegiance to Kong Ming'an. 444 449
  • Blood-Swallowing Head Soul Bone — Ten-thousand-year Soul Bone absorbed alongside the Blood Swallowing Method. 251
  • Storage Soul Tools — Taken from the Evil Soul Master he survives against, along with the Blood Swallowing Method and Spirit Bone. 239

Relationships

  • Xiao Wu — His wife and the scabbard bound to the Asura Divine Sword. Tang San is fiercely protective of her, but Kong Ming'an uses their divine connection to seize Asura God Position Origin and suppress him. 15 444 448 449
  • Wang Dong'er / Xiao Qi — His daughter. She becomes the legitimate Sea God successor and rejects him after recovering memories of him tearing apart her soul. 445
  • Ah Yin — His mother. She agrees to channel Golden Ancient Tree life energy into him for the Sea God Fifth Trial, but Kong Ming'an captures her soul essence during the process. 186
  • Kong Ming'an — His primary adversary. Kong Ming'an steals Asura Power through Tang San's trials, supports Wang Dong'er's Sea God succession, and eventually strips Tang San of both divine seats. 131 445 450
  • God of Destruction — A God Realm authority who prevents Tang San from freely interfering with the Douluo Plane and places the Lower Realm incarnation under observation. 15 71
  • Da Ming and Er Ming — Subordinates contacted through Divine Sense and ordered to kill a target without exposing Tang San's involvement. 18
  • Tang Ya — Tang Sect Master who confronts him over the stolen secret arts, destroys his Tang Sect foundations, and severely cripples him. 213 215
  • Zhongli Wu — Holy Spirit Cult Master who uses Tang San as a cultivation resource and forces dangerous trials; Tang San eventually devours Zhongli Wu's cultivation. 291 439

History

Disrupted divine plan

Tang San's long-term design for the Douluo Plane is disrupted when the Spirit Devouring Carving Knife, a remnant soul, and half of the plane's accumulated fortune are granted to an unknown individual, creating a second Child of Fortune. Furious at this loss of control, Tang San attempts to interfere with the lower realm, only for the God of Destruction to warn him against doing so. 15

Unable to act openly, he dispatches orders through Da Ming and Er Ming, demanding a covert assassination. 18

Possession of Tang Shan

Tang San eventually projects his Divine Sense into Tang Shan, a nine-year-old boy with innate Soul Power level 7 and a Clear Sky Hammer. The possession erases Tang Shan's original memories and consciousness, replacing them with Tang San's own personality and goals. 57

His plan for the vessel is to gain immortal herbs at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, enroll in Shrek Academy, gather power in the Douluo Three Kingdoms, and eliminate the Child of Destiny. His plans repeatedly go awry, however, as the Plane Will's hostility subjects him to prolonged misfortune and hardship. 57 70 71

Shrek Academy and collapse

After years of wandering, Tang San reaches Shrek City with three Soul Rings and enters Shrek Academy. He bribes a city guard for admission, then is immediately beaten by Dai Huabin and his guards over a past theft. 118

His growing confidence after gaining high-quality rings leads to further setbacks. He loses Shrek's final examination despite possessing a ten-thousand-year Soul Ring, then suffers a catastrophic battle with Tang Ya after involuntarily admitting to stealing Tang Sect secret arts. Tang Ya destroys one leg and abolishes the foundations of nearly all of his Tang Sect techniques. 184 213 215

Descent into blood cultivation

While fleeing an Evil Soul Master, Tang San's Clear Sky Hammer is shattered and one of his arms is torn off. A Mingmeng Chamber of Commerce Titled Douluo saves him, but Tang San secretly takes the Evil Soul Master's Spirit Bone, Storage Soul Tools, and Blood Swallowing Method. 239

Desperate to repair his damaged Martial Soul, he absorbs the blood-swallowing head Soul Bone and begins using the Blood Swallowing Method. He soon kills a civilian for blood, drawing the attention of Star Luo City authorities and confirming his descent into increasingly violent conduct. 251 260

Holy Spirit Cult and rise to Limit Douluo

The Holy Spirit Cult identifies Tang San as an Evil Soul Master. Ye Xishui orders Zhongli Wu to use him as a cauldron, while an Evil Soul Master Soul Saint is refined directly into Tang San's body to accelerate his Soul Power. 262

Though exploited and repeatedly forced into trials, Tang San turns the Cult's methods to his advantage. He absorbs increasingly powerful Soul Rings, Harvests other Evil Soul Masters, completes the Sea God Ninth Trial, and devours Zhongli Wu's cultivation to reach level 98. His body then transforms and breaks through to level 99, Limit Douluo. 291 413 439

Loss of the divine seats

In the God Realm, Tang San struggles to retain both the Sea God and Asura God Seats as Kong Ming'an siphons away the Asura God Position Origin and Wang Dong'er qualifies to inherit the Sea God Seat. 445 446

Kong Ming'an captures Xiao Wu, gains control of the Asura Divine Sword, and overturns Tang San's majority control of the Asura God Position. Tang San abandons the Sea God Seat to preserve his Asura Power, but Kong Ming'an immediately strips him of the remaining Asura Power, the Sea God's Trident, and the Sea God's Eight Wings. 448 449 450

The defeated Tang San and Xiao Wu are imprisoned separately. While captive, the God Realm main body attempts to claim a hidden Rakshasa God Seat, only to discover that his Lower Realm incarnation has inherited it instead. 450 459
