Gu Yue entered the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy under a human identity alongside Gu Qiu'er. While posing as a student, she and Qiu'er joined a club to access restricted cultivation materials, allowing Gu Yue to study the Law Cultivator system and investigate the Ling Shu Network. She forcibly disguised her spiritual presence to connect to the network without exposing either of their identities. 91 92 194

After returning from leave, Gu Yue detected that Qiu'er had been absent from their dormitory for a long time through the weakening trace of her Golden Dragon aura. Tracking her across the sea led Gu Yue into a confrontation with Kong Ming'an and Snow Empress, where she recognized Kong's side as possessing god-level power. 176

Gu Yue initially assessed cooperation with the Merchant Guild as a calculated risk: its knowledge and Contribution Points system could benefit the Star Dou Great Forest, but its experiments on soul beasts posed serious dangers.
