Background / History

Ling receives formal Sharingan-control knowledge before awakening the bloodline itself. The technique teaches him how to strengthen the eye meridians, conserve ocular power, and regulate his emotions during activation; he combines this foundation with Asauchi visualization to develop Yin Release and prepare for the Sharingan's evolution 1 2.

The Sharingan awakens during Ling's confrontation with Orochimaru amid the Konoha Crush. Its appearance immediately changes his fighting style: he can read chakra circulation, recognize flaws in enemy techniques, and predict Orochimaru's attacks closely enough to counter them efficiently 27 28.

Afterward, Kakashi trains Ling to use the eye's strengths without becoming dependent on it. Ling later advances to the Two-Tomoe stage through dangerous training that combines activated ocular power with controlled curse-mark energy 31 37 38.

During the Infinite Tsukuyomi crisis, Six Paths Yang Power elevates Ling's Sharingan into a Rinne Sharingan. With the completed form created through Obito's sacrifice, Ling seals Black Zetsu and helps end the global genjutsu 48.

Appearance

The Sharingan manifests as a blood-red eye with rotating tomoe. Ling's first active form has one tomoe, which later divides into two; its final documented transformation is the Rinne Sharingan 28 38 48.
