Ling was an Uchiha orphan under Hidden Leaf jurisdiction who retained memories from another life, including foreknowledge of the Uchiha Clan massacre. At six years old, he awakened the Myriad Worlds Sign-in System, which rewards interactions with people, locations, and pivotal events. He immediately regarded the system as his means to survive and alter the future. 1

He trained relentlessly while attending Konoha Ninja Academy, deliberately presenting himself as merely excellent rather than exceptional amid the worsening tension between the Uchiha and the village.
