Dangerous Little Bugs

The Kor'kron Vanguard finally descended into the second underground level. Though they were all startled by the sheer number of little bugs, they were not attacked.

Besides the little bugs on the rock walls, the second level also had mushrooms that glowed with an eerie blue phosphorescence. Strangely, the bugs did not attack these mushrooms.

"Move slowly. Remember, do not take out anything that gives off light." The Kor'kron army, which had dared to charge head-on at the Burning Legion, now appeared exceptionally cautious. Their massive, cumbersome bodies moved step by step, making them look somewhat comical.

At first, they encountered no problems. But as they ventured deeper, they found more and more Scourge Nerubian corpses along the way. Even though some had been gnawed down to bare skeletons, they still made the path much narrower.

These little bugs, a subspecies of the Nerubians, had once been part of the Empire of Azjol-Nerub. They had been excellent battle companions, pets, and cleaners for the Nerubians.

Their trait was scavenging, and they could help the Nerubians dispose of garbage and waste. However, after the Scourge conquered the Empire of Azjol-Nerub, the living Nerubians fled, leaving behind only vast numbers of undead Nerubians.

These little bugs were like the natural enemies of the undead. Any undead creature that entered the second level would be completely wiped out by them.

After feeding on and devouring undead Nerubians for so long, these once-docile little bugs had mutated as well, becoming violent and frenzied. They had originally merely disliked light and lived underground, but now they would extinguish any light they encountered, except for the naturally growing blue mushrooms.
