The severely weakened Frostwolf Clan did not take part in the war between Duke Falconcrest's Kingdom of Alterac and Galen Trollbane's Kingdom of Stromgarde.

Another rogue tried to flee, only to be struck in the shoulder by an arrow fired from the house and sent sprawling to the ground.
"Who sent you?" Vereesa Windrunner's voice came from inside the house, but it was incomparably hoarse and utterly devoid of emotion.
The last rogue scrambled desperately toward the outside, trying to escape as he shouted, "Monster! I will never submit to you! One day, the Holy Light will cleanse you!"
The word "monster" had clearly enraged Vereesa Windrunner. Another arrow flew out and killed the rogue outright.
Vereesa slowly emerged from the house. Her skin had turned exceptionally pale, the blue in her eyes had been replaced by red, and death energy poured from her body.
Through her constant contact with the two half-elf children, Vereesa Windrunner had ultimately been infected by the mutated plague and turned into undead, though she herself did not know it.
After the Northern Campaign ended and Vereesa vanished, the Alliance dispatched SI:7 to search for her. They found her in the valley, but by then, Vereesa had already become undead.
The SI:7 rogues then sent the news back to Stormwind.
