"Good day, General Halduron Brightwing. And she is?" Upon seeing Halduron Brightwing, Velonara, leader of the Dark Ranger forces, emerged directly from a silver coin and asked about the concealed Vereesa Vengeancebringer.
Before Halduron Brightwing could answer, Vereesa Vengeancebringer removed her hood herself, revealing a face no different from that of the Dark Rangers. "It's me."
"Vereesa? You traitor!" Dark Ranger Velonara froze for a moment, then fury filled her as she fired a Black Arrow straight at Vereesa Vengeancebringer's heart.
Though Dark Ranger Velonara was among the finest of the remaining Dark Ranger forces, she was still far inferior to Vereesa Vengeancebringer. Vereesa Vengeancebringer easily dodged the attack.
Just as Dark Ranger Velonara wanted to continue attacking, Halduron Brightwing stepped in front of Vereesa Vengeancebringer and shouted, "Stop!"
Over a hundred Dark Rangers leaped out from hiding and surrounded Vereesa Vengeancebringer. Every one of them had their bows trained on her. If not for Halduron Brightwing's obstruction, Vereesa Vengeancebringer would likely already have been pierced through by countless arrows.
"General Halduron Brightwing, we are eliminating a scourge from the Windrunner family. Please do not stop us, or I cannot guarantee that every Dark Ranger will restrain her arrows," Dark Ranger Velonara said threateningly.
In the hearts of these Dark Rangers, Lor'themar Theron was tolerable, but Halduron Brightwing was utterly unworthy of the title of Ranger-General... If he had not been personally appointed by Sun King Kael'thas Sunstrider, they might well have acted against him already.
Halduron Brightwing also knew that he might be the weakest Ranger-General in the history of Quel'Thalas... But being threatened by the Dark Rangers like this still left him angry and humiliated.
