Tonatiuh was not a troll who would surrender without a fight.
Although he knew there was a vast gap between himself and a legendary-level enemy, and that an enemy of that level could kill him as easily—perhaps even more easily—as he could kill a mutant scorpion.
Knowing was one thing.
When life and death hung in the balance, no one would compromise. No one would simply accept their fate!
"Hah!"
He roared again, preparing to unleash all the power of his faith to resist the Infinite Dragon's temporal imprisonment. But at that critical moment, a flash of golden light appeared before his eyes. Two enormous golden hands suddenly materialized, completely shielding him from head to toe.
He hesitated.
Clang!
The massive claws of the Infinite Dragon Murozond should have torn through his guts, but instead they struck the golden hands protecting him, producing a thunderous metallic crash.
H-Hand of Protection?
Tonatiuh was utterly stunned.
At the same time.
Among the twenty-five strange-looking trolls, one particularly towering "troll" let out a roar and leaped into the sky. A tremendous emerald glow burst from his body, and then an enormous emerald dragon, scarcely smaller than the Infinite Dragon Murozond, appeared on the battlefield. Roaring, it pounced at Murozond and immediately unleashed a blast of emerald dragon breath.
A shield-bearing troll glittering with golden light was teleported to Tonatiuh's side, where the golden hands protected him. He smiled at him. "Your Majesty! Shuhalo will never forget your kindness!!!"
"Shut up! Don't speak!!" the troll priest wielding Light's Wrath roared at the gleaming troll.
The actor troll shrugged and stayed glued to Tonatiuh's side, never taking a single step away.
Tonatiuh was full of question marks.
Just then.
The Infinite Dragons began charging in frantically. Nearly seventy percent of them came for Tonatiuh, while the rest flew over the Sandblood Tribe's camp, preparing to attack the trolls.
Tonatiuh felt enormous pressure.
Because the system displayed information about these Infinite Dragons across his retina, and even the lowest-ranking whelps were level thirteen or fourteen powerhouses. Some dark teal drakonids had also begun emerging from spatial distortions on the ground, and even they were around level ten to twelve.
In other words, if he and his tribe had faced these Infinite Dragons alone, he, a newly advanced level-nine great warrior, would not have been able to defeat even one of them...
Fortunately.
The first twenty-five "trolls" to appear were on his side. Setting aside the gleaming actor troll protecting him at close range, the emerald dragon transformed from a troll in the sky was actually fighting the level-twenty legendary dragon on equal footing.
He just did not know why.
The system in his retina displayed the levels, names, and abilities of the Infinite Dragons attacking him, but when he looked at those twenty-five "trolls," all he saw were question marks.
As the terrifying Infinite Dragonflight launched its assault on Tonatiuh and the Sandblood Tribe,
the remaining twenty-three "trolls" also began to move...
Under the command of the troll priest wielding Light's Wrath, they acted in perfect order. Forming small squads, they spread out and were teleported through spatial distortions to all sides of the Sandblood Tribe. Tonatiuh had the most defenders around him—at least two squads, more than ten "trolls," protecting him.
Tonatiuh watched as the troll beside him, carrying the enormous Titanstrike cannon on his back, whistled. Space rippled in the air around Tonatiuh, and three gigantic beasts, scarcely smaller than those Infinite Dragons, burst out and roared as they pounced on the incoming dragons;
then the robed troll holding Flamestrike began chanting. Tonatiuh felt an incomparably oppressive blaze gathering in his hand before it transformed into a massive molten fireball the size of a kodo beast, blasting an Infinite Dragon and making it howl in agony;
right beside him, the troll who had been staring at him curiously earlier, holding Ulthalesh, the Deadwind Harvester and radiating an oily green glow, waved his hands. As that terrifying green light flashed, several green meteors suddenly crashed down from the sky, smashing several Infinite Dragons into disarray. Then infernals wreathed in green flames crawled out of the meteor craters, grabbed the nearest massive drakonid at least four or five meters tall, and began pounding it savagely.
The "trolls" wielding artifacts such as Doomhammer, Queen Azshara's Scepter, Sasdora, Legacy of the Windrunners... all launched fierce attacks against the Infinite Dragons. Under their assault, the fearsome dragon legion was thrown into complete chaos.
Forget killing Tonatiuh or destroying the Sandblood Tribe. The Infinite Dragons would be doing well just to protect themselves.
What exactly was going on?
Tonatiuh truly had no idea.
But the familiar feeling of an instance dungeon made him immediately think of one from a certain game—Escape from Durnholde.
So now... was this Protect Tonatiuh?
Except Escape from Durnholde only had five humans, while there were twenty-five trolls here. Did that mean... this was a raid?
Something about it felt wrong.
He remembered that the Infinite Dragonflight had always sought to destroy the timeline. As a transmigrator, he was a variable in that timeline. At the simplest level, the timelines of the Sandblood Tribe and Tanaris Desert had changed because of his appearance. Shouldn't this have been exactly what the Infinite Dragonflight wanted to see?
Shouldn't someone like him be the Infinite Dragonflight's natural ally?
What he had worried about most before had not been the Infinite Dragonflight, but the Bronze Dragonflight, which saw it as its duty to repair the timeline and eliminate anything that might affect it.
Sometimes, when he slept at night.
Tonatiuh worried that five adventurers might suddenly jump out in his room, shouting as they rushed to kill him.
Yet now, everything had suddenly reversed.
It was not five adventurers suddenly appearing to kill him. Infinite Dragons had suddenly appeared to kill him instead, while adventurers had appeared to protect him.
This was all a mess!
For a time.
Tonatiuh's heart was filled with confusion.
Yet the battle around him only grew more intense. Un'Goro Crater, silent for who knew how many millennia, became lively because of this enormous battle.
Un'Goro Crater.
Above the Sandblood Tribe's temporary camp.
On the branch of an enormous tree stood a petite figure completely mismatched with the giant tree's size. She clicked her tongue in wonder at the fierce battle below.
"He was so ugly back then!!"
"Murozond's legion is so pitiful!!"
"That's really amazing!"
The innocent-looking, adorable little girl tilted her head and swayed as she talked to herself. Yet she sat at the edge of the giant tree without staying still for even a moment, making anyone unable to help worrying that she might fall.
If she fell from so high up.
Such a pretty little girl.
She would probably cry for a long time.
For some reason, Chapter 11's title wouldn't display. Could it be because the title had the word "legion" in it? But I clearly wrote Infinite Dragonflight. Changing it didn't work either!... Forget it, I'm updating tonight's chapter early to explain, and while I'm at it, please send some recommendation votes!
