Whether day or night, Un'Goro Crater was always shrouded in a faint mist.
The mist consisted of moisture and the overly active energy in the area, but it had to be said that much of it was poisonous.
Tonatiuh remembered that in the culture of his previous life, this poisonous mist was called miasma.
Miasma was a toxic gas produced by the decay of plants and animals in tropical rainforests. The main cause was the lack of effective disposal for animal corpses after death, coupled with excessively high tropical temperatures that created favorable conditions for miasma to form.
This was also one of the greatest obstacles for outsiders entering Un'Goro Crater. When the trolls had first come here, the priest captain holding an artifact and several paladins and priests had provided the greatest help. With them around, this mist could not harm the trolls.
After they left.
Zutona had the protection of the Eternal Statue, so the city itself was safe. But for those venturing outside, even with the trolls' powerful vitality and recovery, there was nothing they could do against this mist.
Fortunately, witch doctors and voodoo shooters were naturally skilled at things that combined poison and magic. With Tonatiuh's help, Zangar had developed several spells that allowed trolls to move about in the mist for extended periods.
The Zutona Trolls walking through the forest were no longer harmed by the mist.
The most exaggerated case was Tonatiuh himself.
The trolls merely relied on spells to become immune to the mist, but the moisture within it would still soak their clothes before long.
As for their Majesty, even the mist dared not approach him. Within a meter around him, wherever he went, the mist automatically recoiled.
As though the mist feared him.
Tonatiuh found the phenomenon thought-provoking. Even voodoo potions had no effect on him, so naturally, this miasma, far less toxic than voodoo potions, was no concern.
But in the eyes of the other trolls, this meant their Majesty was blessed by the gods, protected by the Loa.
Under the trolls' reverent gazes.
Tonatiuh looked back at the dense crowd behind him. Around five hundred trolls followed at his back: two hundred elite Loa Spirit Warriors, two hundred troll berserkers, one hundred voodoo shooters, and over fifty witch doctors.
This was the army he intended to take to Fire Plume Ridge.
In the game, Fire Plume Ridge had only been a small, rundown mountain. In reality, however, it was a massive mountain range stretching for hundreds of kilometers, dotted with many volcanoes that rarely erupted, with countless fire elementals active upon it.
The trolls of Zutona had scouted the mountain. It was vast and scorching hot, and not a blade of grass grew anywhere near it. It could be called the only place in all of Un'Goro Crater where no grass grew.
The faint, ever-present miasma spread throughout Un'Goro Crater had also vanished here. The tyrannical fire elementals had driven away everything else.
At present, aside from the insect tunnels in the south and this central mountain range, the trolls had basically explored all of Un'Goro Crater. Tonatiuh had no plans to provoke the insects for now, while Fire Plume Ridge happened to have a system quest.
"Set out."
Tonatiuh waved his hand.
The trolls swiftly followed. More than a hundred voodoo shooters immediately dispersed, serving as scouts and vanguards. The remaining troll warriors followed behind Tonatiuh as they left Zutona and set out for Fire Plume Ridge.
Amid steady footsteps.
The trolls had shed their former chaos and disorder. They marched silently in neat formation.
Zutona did not yet have cavalry.
As everyone knew, trolls were highly skilled at taming all kinds of dinosaurs, especially raptors. But Zutona had been established for less than a year, and desert trolls happened to be the least skilled among trolls at taming mounts. What animals were there to tame in the desert? Only a few lizards.
Although, at Tonatiuh's repeated insistence, some witch doctors and voodoo shooters in the tribe had collected many Venomhide Raptor eggs, too little time had passed. The hatchlings were still young and not yet old enough to ride.
For now, the trolls could only march on foot. Fortunately, trolls were naturally long-legged, with astonishing endurance and recovery. If every race in Azeroth had to race long distances on foot without mounts, the trolls would surely win.
Their advance was not slow.
"How could there be a troll city here... I've never heard of it."
As Tonatiuh led his army out of the city, a petite figure completely shrouded in a black cloak stood atop a massive tree far from Zutona, murmuring curiously to herself.
"And those Stone Guardians and Bloodpetals seem to be their allies too. How strange. Still, sometimes I really admire these barbarians. From Northrend to Azeroth, from Azeroth to Kalimdor, from frozen wastelands to forests, from forests to deserts, their traces are everywhere."
"Let's go take a look."
With that thought.
She lightly waved her hand.
A burst of arcane light flashed across her body, and her figure vanished into thin air. She had used one of the more advanced arcane spells: Invisibility.
At the entrance to Un'Goro Crater.
The young human mage who had just set foot in Tanaris after disembarking at Steamwheedle Port held an orb in her hands and examined it with great care.
"Seems like it's here."
"She went into this primeval forest? Let me think. Southwest of Tanaris... should that be Un'Goro Crater? One of the Titans' laboratories from the legends among the elves and dragons?"
"Given her abilities and personality, it seems normal for her to come here..."
"Ah... I'd better take a look! I hope she doesn't make things difficult for me. She's my idol!"
After muttering to herself, the young mage waved her hand. An enigmatic magic circle rose beneath her feet, and amid flashing light, an exquisitely crafted flying carpet floated up. She stepped onto it and flew toward Un'Goro Crater.
Inside Zutona.
A certain flesh-loving guardian dragon had both hands dripping with grease, holding more than a dozen skewers of grilled meat in each hand as she ate with great delight.
"So delicious!"
"This is amazing!"
"Mmm..."
She was eating happily.
Suddenly.
She looked toward a spot in the alley.
Several trolls were passing through, but she was not looking at them. Her gaze was fixed on a corner of the wall, where there appeared to be nothing at all.
"The scent of arcane magic..."
"And the scent of a human."
"..."
Chromie's small nose twitched.
Originally, she had not intended to bother with it.
Although she currently looked like a troll and did not dislike the trolls in this city, she was a guardian dragon above worldly affairs. As long as it did not affect her duties, she could not be bothered with whatever happened in this city.
But...
Her guardian dragon senses told her.
A human had entered a troll shop.
"Aunt Rom's shop?"
"Is this a thief trying to steal grilled meat?"
Unforgivable.
Even Chromie had to pay for grilled meat, and when she had no money, she could only put it on her tab. She absolutely would not allow anyone else to ruin a grilled meat shop!
Whoosh!
In an instant, she opened her little mouth and sucked in nearly thirty skewers of grilled meat at once, stuffing her mouth full and smearing grease all over it as she crept forward.
