Scar Eye's voice was low as he approached, one step at a time.
When Scar Eye stepped out of the shadows, the Confessarius saw that something was wrong—
"Don't know him? Wait!" the Confessarius exclaimed. "Where are your horns?!"
"Broken." Scar Eye kept walking.
His answer was so calm that the Confessarius stumbled over his words. "I'm not blind! I'm asking who broke—"
Before he could finish, a fist tore through the air and slammed toward his face.
The Confessarius hastily raised his sword to block. The heavy blow sent a shock through the blade and left his arm numb. He stared at Scar Eye in disbelief.
"You dare hit me?"
"[Sarkaz profanity!] You're exactly the fool I'm hitting!!"
Scar Eye cursed as his other fist came crashing in like a hammer, all force and fury.
The Confessarius barely blocked it, but the sheer force drove him staggering backward, his feet carving two deep furrows through the mud.
"Have you gone mad?!" The Confessarius regained his footing, shocked and furious. "You want to make an enemy of us? Over some lowly mercenary?!"
