Just as a barely perceptible expression appeared on Uchiha Yato's face, the Seven-Tails, thoroughly cowed by him, had already seen through his thoughts.
It immediately widened the distance between itself and Uchiha Yato.
Seeing the Seven-Tails react so nimbly, Uchiha Yato could not help but laugh, though he quickly returned to normal.
The corners of his lips lifted slightly, forming an elusive smile as he teased it in a faintly playful tone.
"Oh my, you've truly shattered my heart! Do you really see me as such a cruel and vicious person?"
After a brief pause, Uchiha Yato continued, "I haven't even finished a single sentence, yet you're already leaping away like a startled bird."
"Alas, it seems the little bit of trust we once built between us has completely vanished!"
As he spoke, he even blinked solemnly, as though tears would fall the very next second.
It was worth mentioning that Uchiha Yato already possessed an exceptionally handsome face. Coupled with his exquisitely convincing performance, he could easily evoke others' sympathy.
Yet the Seven-Tails could only look helpless. It pouted and replied resentfully, "Hmph, whose fault is it for always hitting me before?"
"And you hit so hard every time! It hurt so much! So when I heard you wanted to test some new project again, how could I not hurry up and run away?"
The Seven-Tails' voice even carried a faint sobbing tone, making it look like a pitiful little thing that had suffered endless bullying.
The Seven-Tails did recognize Uchiha Yato's strength, and since Uchiha Yato had not used Rogue's ability to control it, he had earned some of its goodwill.
Uchiha Yato stood there expressionlessly, his deep eyes glimmering with a mysterious light like cold stars.
He slowly raised his right hand and murmured under his breath.
