A day passed quickly. Uchiha Yato took the opportunity to explore Konoha properly.
Of course, along the way, he helped the Konoha Military Police Force straighten out some areas around the village that Uchiha Yato considered noncompliant.
When he appeared once more at the entrance to the space-time tunnel, the surroundings were silent. Only Orochimaru from the parallel world stood there alone.
He looked around, unable to suppress his surprise.
"Where's Kabuto? Why didn't he come back with us?" Orochimaru muttered.
Just then, Uchiha Yato's voice suddenly rang out.
"He's not coming back. He has some matters to take care of." Uchiha Yato's tone was calm, as though it were nothing significant.
Orochimaru frowned slightly and pressed, "What could be so important that he can't even spare the time to return?"
Uchiha Yato fell silent for a moment before slowly replying, "This experiment is already nearing its end, and there's nothing more for him to do afterward."
"Besides, the mess he's in now is ultimately because of me. I think it's better to let him handle his affairs here."
For a moment, Orochimaru was at a loss for words after hearing Uchiha Yato.
He had not expected Uchiha Yato to so openly make excuses for Yakushi Kabuto, even taking all the responsibility upon himself.
However, Orochimaru also understood what Uchiha Yato meant. After all, Yakushi Kabuto had spent this entire journey serving as little more than a background figure, all for this simple wish.
Now that Uchiha Yato was willing to help him fulfill it, Orochimaru from the parallel world did not wish to spoil the mood at a time like this.
In the end, Orochimaru sighed helplessly. "Fine. Since you've put it that way, let him do as he wishes. I hope he can resolve his problems smoothly."
