Angry shouts crashed over Uzumaki Naruto like raging waves, tightly surrounding him.
These vicious curses did not come from strangers, but from the villagers of Konoha.
Naruto was still very young, only five or six years old. Still childish and innocent, he did not yet understand the ugliness and prejudice of the world.
His eyes widened as he stared in terror at the villagers glaring at him. His heart was filled with confusion and grievance.
"I'm not the demon fox you keep calling me. I have a family too." Naruto's voice quivered with tears as he desperately tried to explain himself, hoping the villagers would understand.
"I didn't do anything. Why are you bullying me?" Tears welled in his eyes, but he fought hard to keep them from falling.
"Please, stop hitting me..." Naruto's pleading voice was so weak amid the noisy curses, as though it could be drowned out at any moment.
Yet his words had no effect at all. Instead, they provoked an even fiercer reaction from the other villagers.
Their insults became more and more unrestrained, escalating from pointing fingers to personal attacks. Some even began throwing rotten vegetable leaves at him.
Worse still, several villagers picked up wooden sticks and approached Naruto with vicious looks on their faces.
Yet the terrifying scene before Naruto did not stop there. Like a nightmare, it continued to unfold.
