"It seemed the situation in all of Sunagakure was indeed terrible!" Uchiha Yato sighed as he looked over the intelligence on Sunagakure in his hand.
As he flipped through the reports, he muttered, "If it really comes down to it, they can just shrink their territory a little more. The whole area around Sunagakure is nothing but sand anyway. There's nothing worth fighting over."
Meanwhile, Ebizo and Chiyo were frantic with worry. They had not noticed Uchiha Yato's sudden appearance at all, nor had they heard what he said.
The moment Chiyo heard Uchiha Yato's words, fury flared within her, and she snapped, "What nonsense are you talking about?!"
She could not accept anyone holding such a pessimistic view of Sunagakure, especially during such difficult times.
Chiyo firmly believed Sunagakure would make it through this crisis. She would never allow anyone to lose faith in the village.
Chiyo assumed those words had come from Ebizo, so she instinctively refuted them.
But she quickly realized she might have overreacted. After all, Ebizo was an important figure in the village as well, and they were under enormous pressure right now.
Not wanting to cause an unnecessary argument, Chiyo softened her tone slightly and encouraged him, "We'll definitely make it through this!"
