The Third Hokage sat behind his desk, listening attentively as Uchiha Yo finished introducing the ninjutsu. Then he stood and created a Shadow Clone before saying to Uchiha Nobunaga, "Have the boy take my Shadow Clone to the training grounds and demonstrate the ninjutsu's power for evaluation."
Uchiha Nobunaga understood what the Hokage meant. He had something to discuss with him privately. "Yo, go to the training grounds with Lord Hokage's clone and show him what you can do. Once you're done, you can return to the Military Police Force."
After Uchiha Yo left, the Third Hokage said, "This series of ninjutsu can be considered secret techniques, worthy of being passed down through generations. The Uchiha Clan has made such a great sacrifice for Konoha. On behalf of Konoha, I thank the Uchiha Clan for its generosity. Since the Uchiha have offered us mulberries, Konoha will surely repay them with peaches."
"Lord Hokage, the Uchiha are Konoha's Uchiha. There is no doubt about that. Perhaps there were some misunderstandings in the past, but we still believe that one day they will be resolved. With that in mind, I have a presumptuous request. My son Fugaku is about to graduate, and I have heard that your esteemed disciple Jiraiya will be leading a team this year as well. I hope my son can join his team. With such a line of mentorship, the Uchiha Clan's young clan head could become your grand-disciple. That would make for quite a fine tale." Uchiha Nobunaga spoke eloquently.
The Third Hokage took a puff from his pipe and slowly exhaled. "Of course. For Jiraiya to serve as the mentor of such an outstanding Uchiha disciple would be his honor as well. Don't worry, I'll speak to him about it. Also, Uchiha Yo is quite promising.
