Through the massive gaps in the shield wall, many Orcs were struck by arrows. Some could not even keep hold of their shields under the force of the impact. Soon, screams rang out from within the formation, and the ranks began to waver. An Orc chieftain stood amid the army, raised his battle-axe, and shouted, "Don't move! Nobody moves!"

Under the command of the chieftains and squad leaders, the Orcs quickly steadied their formation. Though people continued to fall dead from arrows, the deaths of their comrades did not frighten them. The fearless Orcs maintained their ranks and marched forward step by step behind the warriors at the front.

Of course, the Orcs would not meekly endure the beating. Compared with humans, elves, and Draenei, the more barbaric Orcs did not possess large units of archers. Most of their ranged troops were axe throwers and javelin throwers. Javelins and throwing axes were more powerful than arrows, but they could not compete with archers in range or accuracy, let alone when the Draenei held the advantage of higher ground.

Thus, as usual, the Orcs could only try to bombard the city walls with their crude catapults.

But catapults were simply too primitive and outdated. Their power could not even compare to relatively primitive cannons, much less the Draenei's Photon Cannons. Even though their stones were ammunition "processed" by warlocks, they still could not breach Shattrath's shield.

The Draenei seemed accustomed to the Orcs' feeble firepower. They did not bother specifically dealing with those catapults, instead continuing to use their sparser-than-before artillery fire to inflict casualties on the Orcs.
