Under the effects of Yrel's shadow spells, Blackhand was already covered in wounds. The Horde's Warchief was a powerful legendary warrior, but he was still only a legendary warrior. He was not a god. No matter how strong his resistance and endurance were, he could not completely resist the erosion of shadow energy. And Yrel's power was simply too great.
