The cannons roared as shells screamed toward the aircraft carrier wreckage before them, setting off explosion after explosion.
The already teetering carrier wreckage immediately began to show even more cracks and gashes under the bombardment, looking as though it could collapse at any moment.
The Purifiers inside the carrier wreckage realized there was no turning things around. Led by their leader, they went completely mad, digging out the remaining rust-covered firearms from corners of the wreckage and opening fire toward the sailing battleship.
"Kill them! Kill all these blasphemers! We are gods! We cannot let these mortals profane the divine!"
"We are gods... We are gods! We are in heaven! This is all an illusion... all an illusion! A hellish illusion created by blasphemers!"
The Purifier leader screamed madly. He had already climbed to the highest point of the carrier wreckage, clutching a rusted rifle and firing continuously at the sailing battleship.
However, the guns in their hands had limited range and could not compare with the battleship's naval cannons. Their bullets could not even reach the shadow of the sailing battleship before falling to the ground.
Most of the blind Purifiers had been driven mad by the deafening cannon fire and the choking stench of blood. They screamed wildly and stumbled about the wreckage like headless flies.
They could not understand why everything had been so wonderful before, why all they could smell had been the sweetness of honey and milk, yet now there was only the pungent odor of fuel and the nauseating stench of blood.
The Purifiers who had been struck by shrapnel but had not yet died wailed in agony, wanting to return to the heaven they had just been in.
Nearly a hundred Purifiers were still howling madly, **"We are gods! We are in heaven!
