Who were they? The so-called undersea people?
Shen Feng had previously heard Wu Ta say that when the war between humanity and the World Beasts reached its most intense point, when all of Earth's continents were about to be submerged, a small number of people had chosen to withdraw from the fight, adapt to the environment, and live beneath the sea.
It was said that these people had frantically developed underwater survival technology, even altering parts of their own genes. They had also built highly pressure-resistant underwater shelters, becoming the legendary undersea people.
Most survivors of Water World, including Wu Ta the wandering bard, had only heard the legends of the undersea people and had never seen any real ones.
Could these undersea people have used humanity's former urban buildings to establish a new civilization?
Shen Feng was puzzled, and his curiosity was piqued.
But no matter what, it still did not make sense. After being submerged, these underwater buildings had long become genuine hazardous structures. It was already fortunate that they had not collapsed under the immense water pressure. How could they possibly be put to use again?
With that thought, Shen Feng swam directly out of the cockpit of the Oglala Crazy Horse war armor and headed down toward San Francisco, now an underwater city.
His flashlight was completely wrecked, and the energy cannon he had used for illumination had also gone entirely dark. The seafloor was pitch-black, with only a single light in a building within the underwater city standing out like a beacon guiding Shen Feng forward.
From above, he could vaguely make out a small portion of San Francisco's outline. As he swam down into the city from overhead, he could not help feeling as though he were magically descending from the sky.
