Background / History

World Beasts were cultivated in a laboratory in the UY Scuti star system. Research data later identifies them as artificial organisms created through the combination of viruses, metallic elements, and biologically modified nanomachine swarms. A recorded juvenile specimen possessed tentacles and a lamprey-like spiral mouth and was fed meteorite material in a cultivation chamber 429 442.

The beasts crossed to Earth through undersea spatial wormholes. Their arrival caused rapid sea-level rise and global flooding; rather than actively targeting every human settlement, they could simply wait for the seas to swallow civilization. The survivors of Water World regarded them as the destroyers of the ancient world and associated their wormholes with “Hell’s Gate” 350 354.

Humanity discovered that World Beast corpses contain Beast Gold, an energy-rich element essential to controllable nuclear fusion and supergiant war armor technology. This created a vicious cycle: humanity needed Beast Gold to build weapons capable of killing World Beasts, but could acquire Beast Gold only by killing them 354 356.

During the final battle around the undersea wormhole, hundreds of World Beasts guarded the passage while a moon-scale Beast Ancestor lay over it. Shen Feng’s forces escaped through the wormhole into the UY Scuti starfield, drawing the beast horde after them 424 425. The Beast Ancestor later claimed that Earth was the species’ original homeworld and that World Beasts had returned there under the guidance of their souls 430.

Appearance

World Beasts vary greatly in size and individual form, but are generally colossal marine or space-faring organisms with tentacles, limb-blades, huge eyes, armored shells, and abyssal mouths.

• Bodies may combine carbon-based and silicon-based life with non-Earth metallic elements, producing exceptionally tough outer structures 333.
• A five-thousand-meter specimen possessed a wrinkled gray shell, thousands of giant tentacles, crab-like limbs, and yellow eyes the size of basketball courts 339.

Initial Wormhole Incursion

An alien World Beast emerges through the undersea wormhole, devastates the Eagle Country fleet, and leaves tissue samples for international study. Analysis reveals its hybrid composition, enormous projected size, and central nervous system 332 333.

Water World Apocalypse

World Beasts are the principal threat behind Water World’s flooding and the collapse of human civilization. Their bodies provide the Beast Gold that powers humanity’s surviving military technology, while bards preserve knowledge about them through the World Beast Epic 354 356.

Paradise Island and the Puyang Frigate

Shen Feng discovers that Paradise Island is a dormant World Beast and becomes trapped inside it after it awakens. Later, a juvenile World Beast swallows him along with the Puyang Frigate; Shen Feng kills it from within using an Energy-Gathering Cannon 385 389 392.

Cordillera Defense

A five-thousand-meter World Beast attacks Cordillera’s main island after being lured by the Feral Beast Horn. Shen Feng pilots the Golden Mad King, injures it, then destroys its internal neural system with Energy-Gathering Cannons 413 415.

Battle of the Wormhole

Hundreds of World Beasts gather to defend the undersea wormhole. Shen Feng lures them toward it, temporarily stabilizes the passage, and leads human war armors through to UY Scuti while the Beast Ancestor and its horde follow 424 425.

Battle Against the Beast Ancestor

In UY Scuti’s starfield, the Beast Ancestor emerges as a planet-scale leader of the World Beasts. It communicates with Shen Feng, claims Earth as the species’ homeland, and commands the horde against humanity before the Grey Tide dismantles it into Beast Gold 426 430 432.

Beast Gold Ranch Plan

After confronting the Devourer again, Shen Feng decides to preserve and control World Beasts in UY Scuti as a “Beast Gold ranch,” harvesting them for resources and potentially using them as combat assets. The Devourer surrenders under threat from the Grey Tide 445 446.
