Background / History

Wu Yu was born into a wealthy family in which every relative possessed talent. An earlier appraisal had reportedly found him talentless, leaving him burdened by family expectations and fearful that he would disgrace the Wu family. 3

During the Spirit Awakening Ceremony, Wu Yu was ridiculed as the Wu family's “good-for-nothing” when the Spirit Appraisal Stone initially showed no response. Li Yuan told him to relax and clear his thoughts; Wu Yu followed the advice and successfully awakened his talent. 3

The appraisal revealed the Unknown Divine Turtle, an ancient, exceptionally rare defensive bloodline. The academy assessed it as a high-grade Grade Seven talent in the upper third of its grade, transforming Wu Yu's self-image: he was no longer “trash,” but a genuine cultivator with strong prospects. 4
