Xiao Wu's face was flushed red from holding back her anger. If Ao Tian had not held her shoulder down, she would have already jumped to her feet.
"You want me to keep you company? No way!" Xiao Wu snapped.
"Oh my, I like feisty little peppers like you. Since you refuse to accompany me, then hand over your money," Boss Xiao said teasingly.
The Lackeys behind him openly looked down on Wang Sheng and the others, their smiles arrogant.
"You want money? Dream on!" Xiao Wu was so furious that smoke practically seemed ready to come out of her nostrils.
"Hehe... so you've chosen the third option?" Boss Xiao cracked his knuckles, his eyes gleaming with cruelty. "I haven't had you Meat Shields around for the past two months of summer break. My body's practically rusted up."
Ao Tian released his hand, and Xiao Wu instantly stood up. "You want a fight? I'll fight you to the end!"
Clap, clap, clap... Boss Xiao applauded, then looked at Wang Sheng. "You really are becoming more and more useless. You actually need a little loli to stand up for you."
"I'm the boss of Dormitory Seven now!" Xiao Wu declared.
Xiao Chenyu gave Xiao Wu a surprised look. He knew the Rules of the Work-Study Student dormitory.
Since this little loli had become the boss of Dormitory Seven, it meant she was stronger than Wang Sheng.
Boss Xiao's interest in Xiao Wu deepened. He clapped his hands together and laughed loudly. "Then it's settled. At the little hill behind the academy, none of you will get away."
Wang Sheng had originally been furious, but he suddenly remembered Xiao Wu and Ao Tian's strength—especially Ao Tian. The power he had displayed during his match with Tang San had clearly surpassed Xiao Chenyu's.
At that thought, the anger in his heart vanished, replaced by endless hatred and a trace of satisfaction.
Very soon, they would have their revenge.
Ao Tian stood up and tossed the Gold Soul Coin in his hand to Wang Sheng. "Go pay the bill."
Wang Sheng shot Boss Xiao and the others a cold look, then forcefully shoved his way through and walked out.
"Looking to die!" one of Boss Xiao's Lackeys said.
"Don't rush. They'll suffer soon enough," Boss Xiao said.
His gaze fell on Ao Tian, and he was quite surprised.
Because he had become a Work-Study Student, Ao Tian's originally luxurious clothes had been changed into ordinary ones.
Boss Xiao had thought Ao Tian was merely a poor child with a pretty face. He had not expected him to be able to take out a Gold Soul Coin.
"Heh heh... kid, you're pretty rich, aren't you?"
"Yes, I'm very rich," Ao Tian said with a smile.
He swept a hand across the tabletop, and a pile of glittering Gold Soul Coins appeared on it—at least several hundred.
Everyone in the room stared wide-eyed, looking in disbelief at that little mountain of gold.
Boss Xiao and the others were practically drooling.
They might have money, but they could not possibly have this much spending money. Several hundred Gold Soul Coins was an enormous sum even to them.
Ao Tian smiled faintly and waved his hand, putting all the money away.
Boss Xiao's face was full of greed. He examined Ao Tian's features, yet could not think of any young master in Nuoding City who was this beautiful.
"Do any of you know him?" he asked, turning back.
The group of Lackeys all shook their heads.
Boss Xiao sneered, finally at ease.
In Nuoding City, he was the prince. No one could have a status nobler than his.
If Ao Tian were from another major city, why would he come to a place like Nuoding City to study? And as a Work-Study Student, no less.
Boss Xiao was already certain he had Ao Tian under control.
Not long afterward, Wang Sheng returned with a handful of Silver Soul Coins clenched in his hand and stuffed them toward Ao Tian.
Ao Tian waved them away. "Since you've taken over my work, consider that your payment."
Wang Sheng glanced at Boss Xiao and the others. Thinking that it was not a good time to refuse, he accepted them.
"Let's go, everyone," Boss Xiao said with a cold laugh before turning and walking out.
Wang Sheng and the others followed behind Ao Tian and Xiao Wu, already treating the two of them as their backbone.
Xiao Wu asked worriedly, "Wang Sheng, will we get punished for fighting?"
Wang Sheng shook his head. "No, as long as the Teachers don't catch us."
Then he asked, "Should we go back and notify Tang San? With him there, our chances of winning would be much greater."
As he spoke, he looked at Ao Tian.
He knew Ao Tian and Tang San did not get along very well.
Ao Tian shook his head and smiled. "No need."
The moment he finished speaking, an "Ow!" came from ahead, followed by a series of collisions and screams.
Boss Xiao and his group had all tumbled down the Stairs.
Xiao Wu, Wang Sheng, and the others stared at the scene in shock, their minds blank.
"What are you standing around for? Let's go watch the show," Ao Tian said with a smile.
Xiao Wu and the others came back to their senses and quickly followed Ao Tian to the stairway.
At the bottom of the Stairs, eight people were piled on top of one another, with Boss Xiao pinned beneath them all.
Cries of pain continued without pause, drawing the attention of every student eating in the Canteen.
"Damn it, you're all crushing me!" Boss Xiao roared from the bottom.
His Lackeys hurriedly got up and pulled him to his feet.
Screams and sharp gasps rang out continuously. All eight of them had swollen, bruised faces, with several absurdly huge lumps protruding from their foreheads like eggs.
Xiao Chenyu, who had been somewhat handsome and dashing before, had instantly become hideous.
He kept sucking in cold breaths. The pain on his face made him question his life, and his entire body trembled from the intense agony.
Bursts of laughter erupted throughout the first-floor hall. Everyone who saw the scene could not help but laugh.
Boss Xiao and the other seven looked at each other's miserable faces and immediately understood what had happened, their faces flushing crimson with embarrassment.
"Go," he barked, then rushed out of the Canteen.
His Lackeys rushed out after him.
All they wanted now was to get treated by the School Doctor. They had no time to care about Ao Tian and the others.
"Let's go. We're full, so let's head back and take a nice afternoon nap," Ao Tian said with a smile as he walked downstairs.
"Look, that Child is so handsome! So adorable!"
No one knew which Girl had screamed, but everyone's attention immediately focused on the stairs.
Ao Tian descended with a smile, his manner elegant.
Though he wore ordinary clothes, his looks and the aura he gave off instantly won over countless admirers.
The boys' eyes burned with jealousy, while the girls screamed without stopping.
"How vulgar," Ao Tian sighed, shaking his head.
Wang Sheng and the others followed behind Ao Tian, all smiling wryly as they finally understood just how great Ao Tian's charm was.
Even after leaving the Canteen, quite a few bold Girls continued following them.
"Seeing Boss Xiao fall like that was so satisfying," one Work-Study Student said with a sigh.
"That was karma," Wang Sheng said, equally pleased.
Whenever he remembered the state Boss Xiao and the others had been in, he could not help wanting to burst out laughing.
Then his expression turned serious again. "The School Doctor has a Healing Soul Master. They'll recover very quickly. We can't let our guard down. This battle will probably be unavoidable."
As he spoke, he looked at Ao Tian and Xiao Wu.
Xiao Wu clenched her fist tightly. "Don't worry. When the time comes, I'll beat them so badly even their mothers won't recognize them."
Ao Tian merely smiled without saying anything.
Why would he waste his time on such a trivial matter? That Boss Xiao would not be able to recover for at least several days.
Even the most powerful Healing Soul Master on the Douluo Continent would be useless.
The group returned to the dormitory, only to find that Tang San was not there.
Wang Sheng placed the food he had packed for Tang San on Tang San's bed. "He should have gone to see Grandmaster. Grandmaster mentioned it before."
Ao Tian lay down on his bed, closed his eyes, and began resting. After thinking for a moment, Xiao Wu lay down on the other side as well.
Wang Sheng shook his head and returned to his own bed, sitting cross-legged to meditate and cultivate.
The others did the same.
They were not particularly gifted to begin with, so only diligent cultivation could possibly allow them to rise above others.
Tang San did not return until evening, when the sun was gradually setting.
More tomorrow. It should still be five updates, I think. Since it's On Recommendation, I'll work a little harder over the weekend.
