Background

Dai Mubai is a prince of the Star Luo Empire who attends Shrek Academy. On arriving in Suotuo City, he is accompanied by multiple women and immediately attempts to approach Gu Yuena, only to be rebuffed. Zhu Zhuqing—his fiancée—recognizes him but remains hidden because Ao Tian conceals her aura, preventing the natural mutual sensing between the White Tiger and Nether Spirit Cat Martial Souls. 177 178 196

He initially views Ao Tian as a rival for Gu Yuena and challenges him, trusting in his Level 37 cultivation and White Tiger Martial Soul. Ao Tian defeats him without activating his own Martial Soul, breaks most of Dai Mubai's bones, and leaves him unable to care for himself for approximately a month. 217 242 243

While recovering, Dai Mubai learns that the masked “Zhu Qing” has reached Level 30 at age twelve. Believing her to be a gifted member of the Zhu family rather than his own fiancée, he sees her as a potential partner who could help him challenge his elder brother, Dai Weisi, for the Star Luo throne. 245 246
