The visitor's long, pointed ears twitched slightly. Her amber eyes swept over Abigail's innocent, bewildered face before turning to Rake.
The old man looked calm, as though he were merely discussing an ordinary news story.
But the visitor had already understood what he meant—using the news of Sirius Black slaughtering thirteen Muggles to make the girl before them firmly believe that her parents had been killed by an evil wizard, filling her with hatred for the Wizarding World.
As a wizard, she could never fully integrate into the Muggle world, yet she would hate and reject the Wizarding World from the bottom of her heart.
Then her only refuge would be the teacher who understood and cared for her, along with the companions who walked beside him.
Betrayal or loyalty would no longer seem like a choice. Hatred would become the strongest shackles upon her, as well as her greatest source of drive.
A moment later, the visitor's taut, harsh expression faded. A cold smile curled at her lips, and only then did she sit down on the stool.
"Ah... Grimson... yes, his work is beyond reproach."
The visitor spoke in a thin, delicate voice. "He handled that little trouble last time too. You can go to him. I'll give you his address."
"Not just me. The Scourers' operations may need his support as well," Rake said further. "Without spells like Grimson's, they will find it difficult to endure the wizards' pursuit."
"Ah... fine. I'll have him cooperate with the people you arrange."
The visitor replied absentmindedly. She extended her knobby fingers, picked up the newspaper on the table, and carefully examined the man on the front page, laughing soundlessly and madly.
At least from that image, he looked exactly like a vicious Dark Wizard capable of anything.
"Very good,"
