On Christmas morning, Wade woke from a dream. The moment he sat up, he saw that the floor at the foot of his bed was piled with gift boxes, almost like a small mountain.
Yawning, he got out of bed. He first waved his Wand to arrange them neatly, then began opening them one by one.
Hermione's gift was a set of the Compendium of International Magical Law Amendments, Theo had given him a leather notebook, and Ryan had sent an Atlas of Astrological Development.
Michael had sent a Joke Collection, with a note written on the title page:

Harry had also sent a book—the Manual of Flight. It gave a detailed account of the history of Flying Broomsticks, the evolution of rune engravings, and those once-popular medieval "sky vehicles."
It also came with a note: [They say this book hides secrets that can outrun even the wind. If anyone in the world can uncover them, it must be you.]
Through those words, Wade could almost see the giver's unspoken hopes—hoping that Wade would take a greater interest in flight, then create Flying Broomsticks that were faster and more powerful.
He smiled and set the book aside. A Little Crab raised the book and clattered off with it, carrying it back to Wardrobe Space.
Just as Wade was about to throw away the wrapping paper, he suddenly noticed a handwritten letter inside:
