Although Professor Murray did not agree to let him travel to places inhabited by dangerous Magical Creatures, he had not completely rejected Steven's dream. After graduating from Hogwarts, Steven had acquired a farm, where he had raised many "little darlings" over the years.
Wade knew that Hagrid at Hogwarts liked raising all kinds of dangerous creatures, such as fire dragons, and called them "cute little animals." He had thought Steven was the same, but after learning more, he found that Steven kept genuinely cute and mostly harmless Magical Creatures, such as Diricawls, Augureys, Puffskeins, Fairies, Crups, and the like. The most dangerous among them was an Occamy, a creature that could freely expand and shrink its body, growing as huge as a dragon, though it fed on insects, birds, and mice.
"I've always wanted to raise a Granian," Steven said. "Did you know? It's a kind of Pegasus. Granians can fly, and when they run, they're faster than the wind. But apart from the legendary Sigurd, no one has ever tamed a Granian."
"Are they difficult to tame?"
"They're dashing animals. They long for freedom and refuse to be restrained."
As Steven spoke, he went on to talk about other Pegasi—the Thestrals of Hogwarts, the Abraxans of Beauxbatons, and the fire-breathing Aethonans.
