Is This Real?

Wade had been feeling a little irritable lately.

He was about to start primary school, and the thought of being surrounded by chattering, sniveling children in a few months irritated him.

But as a six-year-old, there were very few things he could decide for himself.

Wade had fought hard to win the right to choose his own clothes, but he still could not avoid bad food, the decision to attend primary school, or the trips that could happen at any time whenever his mother got a whim.

Like today. When he woke up, he found himself in a completely unfamiliar place. It looked like an abandoned monastery, probably another tourist site with "great historical significance."

But the most ridiculous thing was that the couple had left him here alone! Left a strange child in a strange place! Who knew where they had gone themselves!

Were his parents really that unreliable?

Wade briefly doubted it, but facts spoke louder than words. Feelings of grievance, anger, and disbelief soon filled his heart.

Perhaps because he now had a child's body, hormones or his surroundings made it harder for his emotions to be restrained by reason. His emotional control was often closer to that of an actual child.

So when Wade spoke, his tone was not particularly friendly.

"Hey, kid, who are you?"

The child across from him looked soft and delicate, about Wade's age, though a little skinnier. But his clear, bright green eyes made him instantly likable.

The child seemed startled by his tone. He shrank his neck and said quietly, "Harry Potter."

Wade raised an eyebrow, suspecting he had misheard. He asked again, "What did you say your name was?"
