After finishing his grueling training, Harry headed to the Great Hall for a meal and found Ron and Hermione at the long table. Hermione was flipping through a book, while Ron held up a piece of bread in deep thought.

"You know?" As Harry approached, Ron suddenly said in a low voice, "I've discovered a truth."

"What is it?" Harry asked curiously, piling his plate with food.

"Oh." Ron turned to him with an especially serious expression. "If you don't eat lunch, dinner becomes even more delicious!" He viciously bit into the bread.

"I discovered a truth when I was three," Harry said, imitating him.

"Please, Mr. Potter." Ron gestured with one hand, speaking indistinctly but solemnly.

"If you're tired and hungry, any meal becomes delicious!" Harry said, then wolfed down more than half a sandwich in one bite.

Hermione glanced at them and heavily underlined two lines in her book, adding notes. Only after Harry had more or less filled his stomach did she frown and say, "The match is almost here. Why is the team's training still so intense?"

"Yeah, exactly because the match is coming up." At the mention of it, Harry felt his stomach twist. "And Snape is the judge."

"Listen, mate, Snape definitely still holds a grudge over you beating Slytherin last time!" Ron offered a suggestion. "Why don't you just break your leg? Then you won't have to play."

Hermione snorted, already too lazy to correct their "persecution complex."

But Harry said miserably, "I can't withdraw from the match. Gryffindor doesn't have a substitute Seeker. If I pull out, Gryffindor won't be able to compete."

"If you're really worried that Professor Snape or... someone else is going to hurt you, then you should work hard to improve your magic instead of daydreaming all day."
