Zofia felt conflicted. On one hand, she was just as happy to see Nearl's handwritten letter.

Though she and Nearl were of different generations, they were close in age and as close as sisters. They had not been in touch for so long, so naturally she was delighted to receive news from her.

However, she was somewhat unaccustomed to the idea of Bai Ye staying at her home.

It had been a long time since a stranger had stayed at Zofia's manor, and Bai Ye was a man—though he certainly did not look like one.

Zofia was also worried about how much trouble it would cause if word got out—those tabloid papers loved this sort of news.

"Shocking! An unknown man seen entering and leaving the Whipblade Knight's manor—scandalous private life!"

If a headline like that appeared in the papers, Zofia would have quite the headache.

Still, since he was Nearl's friend, Zofia could not neglect Bai Ye. Besides, judging from the letter, Nearl held this man named Bai Ye in very high regard.

"On the surface, there doesn't seem to be anything special about him..." Zofia quietly sized Bai Ye up.

Honestly, if she had not read Nearl's letter, Zofia would have mistaken Bai Ye for a woman as well.

Though he wore a black men's trench coat and a hat, Bai Ye had a slender build, ambiguous hair length, and an exceedingly misleading face. Calling him a woman would not have seemed strange in the slightest.

"I'm Bai Ye. I'll be imposing on you for the next few days..."

After all, he was staying in someone else's home, and the host had been so courteous. As a guest, Bai Ye could not be impolite.
