Silence leaned back in her chair and let out a long breath. Only when she picked up her teacup did she realize the hot water from before had already gone cold.
Silence tried to stand up from her chair, but failed several times. Left with no choice, she lowered her head and murmured:
"Bai Ye, give me a hand..."
Silence's voice was as soft as a mosquito's hum. Even she doubted Bai Ye could hear her, yet a fair hand suddenly reached out to hers.
"Phew—thank you. My legs are a little weak..."
Holding Bai Ye's hand, Silence rose from her chair.
"Was it really that exaggerated? I thought Muelsyse was alright, not especially scary... She actually felt pretty similar to Closure."
Muelsyse had not made Bai Ye feel pressured at all. Instead, she gave him the odd impression that she was a comic character too.
"Even though she looks like that... she's actually on the same level as my teacher."
Silence stood there for a while before recovering. Her teacher was Parvis, the director of Rhine Lab's Structural Division.
In other words, when facing Muelsyse, Silence felt as though she were facing her own mentor.
What Bai Ye found interesting, however, was that when Silence faced Saria, who was also a director-level figure, she seemed to feel nothing of the sort. She could even argue and clash with her face-to-face.
More than once, Bai Ye had heard the two arguing from either Silence's or Saria's office. In Saria's words, they were "having a fight."
