"Neural link..."

This wasn't the first time Bai Ye had heard the term. Back in Chernobog, he seemed to have heard Amiya mention that the Doctor had formed a neural link with the PRTS system.

At the time, he had thought any Rhodes Island operator had permission to do so. Only afterward did he learn that there were very few people in all of Rhodes Island capable of forming neural links.

Now, it seemed he possessed such authorization as well.

Though it might not be with PRTS, but with the core system. In any case, Dr. Kal'tsit had not clearly explained.

"Bai Ye, next, please relax... You will be connecting to the vast sea of information within Rhodes Island's intelligence processing system and directly linking with the Rhodes Island database."

"Please prepare yourself."

As she spoke, Dr. Kal'tsit placed a somewhat familiar-looking terminal into Bai Ye's hands.

"Do I need to do anything?"

As he spoke, Bai Ye instinctively placed a finger on the terminal screen.

[External port connection request detected]

[Approve request and authorize access?]

[Yes/No]

The next moment, Bai Ye's long-absent system screen popped up. A translucent panel appeared before him, displaying a dialog box.

"Oh? You actually showed up?"

Bai Ye first looked at the familiar system interface, then secretly glanced at Dr. Kal'tsit.

Dr. Kal'tsit did not seem to react, which meant she could not see the system screen.

"Whew... then, Link Start!"

Bai Ye pressed [Yes] on the system panel.

[Neural link successful]

When Bai Ye opened his eyes again, he found that his field of vision had changed somewhat.
